Windermere Golf Club is situated in the heart of the English Lake District. It has spectacular views over Windermere and the surrounding fells; the scenery is breath taking. We are sure you’ll agree that the outlook matches that from any golf course in the UK. Windermere Golf Club has been referred to as a “miniature Gleneagles” by the golfing press. A truly friendly welcome always awaits you at Windermere Golf Club. So, whether you wish to play the course, soak up the friendly atmosphere in the bar or enjoy the stunning scenery whilst eating in our restaurant, we look forward to seeing you. In 1891 a group of golf enthusiasts from the Windermere area invited George Lowe, the

professional at Lytham St Annes Golf Club, to visit the Lake District to examine a site in the area known as Cleabarrow Fells, near Bowness-on-Windermere, for the purpose of creating a golf course. Windermere is one of the most scenic golf clubs in the country. In recent years we have replaced all our greens and rebuilt them to U.S. PGA specifications. The course is maintained in superb condition by our head Greenkeeper John Baines and his loyal team, and our new greens are probably the best in Cumbria (if not the North West). Our course is not long but a good test of golf - why not come and give us a try - you will definitely not be disappointed.
