• 2014 BRIDGE CEREMONY • WHO KNEW?
CRAIGFLOWER BRIDGE FAST FACTS ▶ The Craigflower Bridge is approximately 120 metres long and connects the municipalities of Saanich and View Royal. It carries about 15,000 vehicles per day, including almost 1,500 trucks.
▷ Approach road upgrades from Island Highway to Gorge Road. ▶ The new Craigflower Bridge is a “lifeline” structure meaning it will remain operational following a major earthquake.
▶ The new Craigflower Bridge and Admirals Road upgrades include: ▷ One lane northbound into Saanich, and two lanes southbound into View Royal; ▷ Wide sidewalks and bike lanes on the bridge and approach roads; ▷ Stormwater treatment for the bridge and approaches; ▷ Improved street lighting and safety features; ▷ Provision for herring fishers on the bridge; and
