Winter Memberships (October 15 to March 15, 2015) are now available – Individual $99; Couples $175; Junior 6-18 years $75; Range (unlimited range balls) $250; Range and Course $300 and of course all of these are subject to applicable taxes. There are many benefits to being a member. Once a month you can bring a guest for a round of golf at no charge; you receive 10% off all clothing and merchandise in the pro shop; and three 30 minute lessons with a CPGA professional are included.
Griffin Gilmore is the Head Golf Pro at Green Acres. He received his Class A Pro designation in 2014. This involves a two year business program and then apprenticeship. He has worked at several golf courses across BC. Most recently he was at Ardmore in Sidney where he developed a strong junior program and adult membership lesson program which are still in use. He is the lead instructor on evening classes for ladies and children at Henderson in Oak Bay. There are changes happening at Green Acres and more planned for the future. A new superintendent from here on Westhore has been hired and is doing a great job of getting the course in shape A new pro shop is in the plans as well as an outdoor barbecue in the anticipation of tournaments and fun events being held. “We want this to be a course that families can enjoy.”
