Golden Heart Ranch strives to provide an exceptional residential community where special needs young adults can live, learn and work side-byside. Golden Heart Ranch looks to create a harmonious and caring environment for these individuals that is emotionally and physically safe. Golden Heart Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. According to Rose van Wier Hein, founder/executive director of Golden Heart Ranch, the organization will use the money to continue providing important programs through life skills and social skills classes, as well as maintaining the focus of creating a safe, caring living environment for special needs young adults. “We believe that all individuals – including those with special needs – should have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential and have the right to a dignified and quality way of life,” van Wier Hein said. 100 Years of Good combines commemorative packaging, promotions and retailer programs with the Great American Gratitude initiative that will award 100 community-minded individuals and nonprofits with a total of $1 million in 2014 to enable them to continue their charitable ways. “Instead of talking about ourselves for our 100th anniversary, Chicken of the Sea is looking back by paying it forward,” said Christie Fleming, Chicken of the Sea senior VP of marketing. “We’re using our Centennial as an opportunity to put the spotlight on everyday American heroes that are making a real difference in their communities. Awarding them with $10,000, is our way of helping ensure that they can continue the cycle of good.” For more information on Chicken of the Sea’s 100 Years of Good and Great American Gratitude Tour, or to nominate a recipient or nonprofit for a $10,000 Great American Gratitude award, go to www.chickenofthesea.com/100.
