INCOME GENERATION

GNI provided the opportunity to increase stable and sustainable household income, thereby creating a safe living environment and comprehensive development for children.

GNI supported people to improve their income by establishing and operating Cooperatives/income generation groups. GNI not only improved the capacity of IG groups/Cooperatives by training courses on production and business techniques or visiting production models but also found consumption markets for the products of these IG groups/Cooperatives. GNI also established and operated Muong Pa Food Store in Hanoi - under the Muong Pa Black Pig Breeding Cooperativeto connect and develop the chain product value.

In addition to supporting members of the Cooperative/IG groups, in 2022, GNI supported disadvantaged households to improve their income by donating 40 breeding pigs in Quang Binh district and 8,600 seeds in Son Duong district.

Training on ecological agriculture and circular agriculture

In July 2022, GNI organized the “Training on ecological agriculture and circular agriculture” activities in Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province. The training was taught by Korean experts, with the participation of members of the pig farming cooperative and IG group in Mai Chau, the agricultural staff of Mai Chau district, and the entire GNI’s IG staff from 06 Community Development projects.

To raise awareness of ecological agricultural practices and to make use of available resources to make animal feed, members participated in many activities such as making IMO (Indigenous Microorganisms) and natural solutions to create a living environment for beneficial microorganisms for livestock and to prevent pests and diseases for plants; Exploring the model of raising chickens and pigs based on the natural method and solutions to increase economic efficiency; Learning natural farming methods and how effective this method was for the environment and household economy.

I found this course very helpful for us. These methods are very new to me. Hopefully in the near future, with the support of GNI, we will practice and improve the pork quality, so that the cooperative can develop more.

“Agricultural production in the ecological and circular model is one of the solutions to reduce the two biggest risks in agricultural production - the market and disease. Applying ecological agricultural practices, farmers can not only save production costs and create high-quality products but also protect natural resources (land, water), and the ecological system to develop sustainably. This training course is the beginning of the Eco-Agriculture program that GNI will organize to develop the economy and sustainably increase income.”
