Child Sponsorship is a program to support underprivileged children based on a 1:1 relationship between one child and one sponsor. Through activities such as giving gifts to children, assisting children with special needs, periodical health check-ups, nutritional support, etc., GNI and our sponsors wish to bring positive changes to Vietnamese children.

Children are sponsored until the age of 18 and will receive support to meet their basic needs regarding safe housing, health care, and highquality education programs. Simultaneously, their families also access income generation programs implemented by GNI. In 2022, GNI established and maintained Child Sponsorship networks and organized training courses to improve professional skills for network volunteers to improve the program’s effectiveness.

One Warm Coat” – a campaign calling for donations to give warm coats to children.
Lung Van commune (now Van Son commune, Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province) has more than 60% of households in poor and near-poor households. Having a new warm coat on the Lunar New Year was many children’s wish here. Without warm clothes, many children would face the risk of pneumonia or schooling interruption.
From that, GNI launched the campaign “One Warm Coat” calling on individuals, organizations, and businesses to donate and provide warm coats to 396 children in Lung Van commune. After a month of raising funds, with the support of 54 donors, GNI gave coats to the children as special gifts for them during the 2022 Lunar New Year, with a total value of nearly 150 million VND.
Providing bicycles to children in Quang Binh district, Ha Giang province.
On May 23, 2022, GNI gave bicycles to 30 students in Bang Lang commune, Quang Binh district, Ha Giang province. This activity was sponsored by Singer-actor Hari Won with a total value of more than 50 million VND.

Bang Lang commune is a mountainous and sparsely-populated area located in Quang Binh district. The way to go to school for students here is challenging. Many students are in poor households and have no means of transportation, so they have to walk to school every day. Having a bicycle is the desire of many students here.
Mr. Vang Van Tan, Vice Chairman of the Bang Lang Commune People’s Committee, shared:
I would like to thank GNI for connecting sponsors with our children, especially singer Hari Won for donating gifts to disadvantaged students. This is the motivation for them to keep studying and striving in their lives.
