Maleny Youth Festival this September

Maleny Youth Festival is back

The Maleny Flexi School, in partnership with Boab Dreaming Solutions and the Maleny Neighbourhood Centre, is keen to get local young people involved in the sixth annual Maleny Youth Festival planned for Friday, September 13.

The festival, which also marks the 20th anniversary of the Maleny Flexi School, will recognise students, staff and volunteers who have contributed to this learning community over the past two decades.

Boab Dreaming Solutions CEO Lyndal Regent said the theme the students had chosen this year was the Day of the Dead, which gives them the opportunity to come together and celebrate all that has gone before, all that is and all that will be.

“This year, we will have a fantastic line up of bands, live entertainment, workshops, fortune telling, stalls and food stands,” Lyndal said.

“We have invited Youth Support Services to come and be a part of the event to deepen their connection in the hinterland community.

“Last year we were humbled by the support from the community and their presence. This year we celebrate with students past and present, and call on the community to once again come and enjoy the day and help us make this our best event yet,” she said.
