Mt Ngungun closure continues

Ngungun track closure extended

The current major upgrade by Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) of the Mt Ngungun summit track at Glass House Mountains has been extended.

Work on the upgrade started on April 8 this year with an initial projected completion date of July 27.

With much higher than average rainfall and prolonged wet weather through May and June, it is anticipated that the track will be closed until Saturday, August 31.

In order to complete the works as quickly as possible, visitor access will be restricted for the duration of the works. All tracks, firebreaks and entry points will be closed to public access during this time.

QPWS thanks visitors for their patience and apologises for any inconvenience. As an alternative, visitors are advised to use the extensive trail network at the nearby Tibrogargan section of the Glass House Mountains National Park.

Signs and barriers are in place at the car park on Fullertons Road. For your safety, please obey all signs and directions from authorised officers on site and do not enter closed areas.
