Extech’s RT30 Wireless AC Circuit Identifier permits a single user to remotely identify circuit breakers, wiring, switched lines, AC outlets and light fixtures without cutting into any wires and without a helper. This tool uses a pager-sized, non-contact voltage detector transmitter that clamps onto wiring mid-run and transmits a “voltage present” signal to a pocket-sized receiver carried by the user, up to 100m away. As the user opens splices or circuit breakers at a remote location, the receiver’s visual and optional audible alarms remain on until voltage is interrupted at the wire, effectively identifying the correct circuit breaker or splice.

COMPACT SPRAY SYSTEM
The new AutoJet®Model 1550 Modular Spray System ensures accurate, precise placement of the liquid being sprayed to minimize waste. The system provides automatic on/off control of electrically- and pneumatically-actuated spray nozzles and offers greater precision than manual operation or devices such as solenoid valves. With a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi, the compact new clamps are double acting, with a robust swing mechanism for faster clamping cycles. MAGNETIC REED SWITCH
Standex Electronics introduces the smallest magnetic reed switch in the world — measuring just 3.7mm in length. In addition to being able to fit in very small spaces, the GR150 also maintains a very narrow sensitivity range. With a magnetic sensitivity of 2-4 Ampere Turns (AT), typical operating time of 0.2 milliseconds and a release time of 0.1 milliseconds, this ultra miniature reed switch is ideal for very demanding applications such as within hearing aids, in pill cams, flip or side phones, laptop computers or more. EXAIR’s new digital ETC (Electronic Temperature Control) Cabinet Cooler™ System keeps electrical enclosures cool while minimizing compressed air use. The ETC® can accurately maintain a constant temperature that is slightly under the maximum rating of the electronics, permitting just enough cooling for the electronics without going so cold as to waste compressed air. The ETC incorporates solid state circuitry that detects the slightest change in temperature. A digital readout LED displays the temperature of the electrical enclosure, then displays the user setting when the “push to set” button is pressed. When the setting is exceeded, the Cabinet Cooler circulates 20°F air through the electrical enclosure to prevent a high temperature malfunction. A VERSATILE AEROSPACE EPOXY conquers cryogenic wind tunnel
A
uniquely formulated epoxy adhesive has come to the rescue in a difficult cryogenic wind tunnel model bonding application. The state-of-the-art wind tunnel poses a difficult challenge to engineering thermoplastics, not only in the terms of the low temperature and vacuum conditions, but in terms of thermal, thermal cycling and mechanical shear stresses. Cooled to 113°K at a rate of 40°K per hour and then reheated over a four hour cycle, the model’s stainless aluminum, neodyne magnet and fiber reinforced plastic substrates are all deforming at their individual CTEs, thus indicating further stress on the parts and adhesive joints. Certainly any metal adhesive would have a difficult time meeting any one of these challenging performance requirements, all the more so all of them at once.
Master Bond’s EP21TCHT-1 is suitable for high vacuum testing applications.
As a NASA qualified low outgassing epoxy, multifunctional Master Bond EP21TCHT-1 was found to be suitable for the high vacuum testing application. Being a toughened, two-part epoxy and the cryogenic adhesive was a good match for the assembly of the difficult to bond substrates used in the wind tunnel model. Developing a high bond strength of 2200 psi in shear at ambient temperatures, it retains significant adhesive strength at both high temperatures, up to 400°F and low temperature, cryogenic environments, down to 4K. The bonds produced are resistant to thermal cycling and many chemicals. FOOD PROCESS EQUIPMENT BUILDER finds a better gear oil

job — it wasn’t providing the enhanced lubrication required. Jorge Goncalves, ASGO’s Technical Director, contacted his lubricants distributor and explained the issues he was having. He needed to find an enhanced gear oil — one that was H1 registered by NSF, with extended drain and long-term protection capabilities. Goncalves got all that and more when he found Petro-Canada’s PURITY FG EP Gear Fluid 460.
