Lake Ridge Commons is a new construction project for Senior Apartment Housing located in Wilmington, NC. This project was funded with the Low Income Housing Tax Credit System through the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency. I had strong roles in all phases of design, coordination, project management, and construction of this project and similar affordable solutions for Senior Housing Facilities through the firm. I prepared and managed construction drawings for this project from initial concept through constructed and occupiable building. I developed schematic site layouts and planting plans for numerous projects similar to this with the firm. I prepared conceptual three-dimensional renderings for Carlisle Development to use for marketing of this project during construction of this project. I also assisted with selection of interior material selections and finishes for all spaces within this building.

Sterling Trace is a new multi-family apartments community located in Salisbury, NC. This project was funded with the Low Income Housing Tax Credit System through the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency. I had strong roles in all phases of design, coordination, project management, and construction of this project and similar affordable solutions for various multi-family housing communities located throughout the Southeast. I prepared and managed construction drawings for this project from initial concept through constructed and occupiable building. I coordinated with civil engineering firms to develop schematic site layouts and planting plans for numerous projects similar to this with the firm. I prepared conceptual twodimensional and three-dimensional renderings for Pirhl Development. I assisted with production and coordination of all construction drawings and documents needed to obtain building permits for this project.


3D Rendering for Copperstone Apartments: Affordable Town-House Style Apartment Community located in Whiteville, NC Copperstone Apartments is a new multi-family town-house style community located in Whiteville, NC. This project was funded with the Low Income Housing Tax Credit System through the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency. I had strong roles in all phases of design, coordination, project management, and construction of this project and similar affordable and market rate solutions for various multi-family housing communities located throughout the Southeast. I prepared and managed construction drawings for this project from schematic design, design development, and assisted with the permiting process. I coordinated with civil engineering firms to develop schematic site layouts and planting plans for numerous projects similar to this with the firm. I prepared conceptual two-dimensional and three-dimensional renderings for Connelly Development. I assisted with production and coordination of all construction drawings and documents needed to obtain building permits for this project.

Cornerstone Conceptual Masterplan: a mixed-use development community located minutes away from Busch Gardens

The Cornerstone Masterplan was a community concept developed with Health-E Communities of Virginia. This project consisted of a mixture of residential, retail, light industrial, and recreational spaces to serve as an affordable community with elements and characteristics of nearby historic Williamsburg’s charm and style. Numerous iterations of building component layouts, site arrangements, and constraints needed to help protect the Skiffe Creek masterplan and Reservoir made this project very challenging when laying out the conceptual site elements. I worked on everything for this project from developing the site layout and receiving local planning board approval for the conceptual masterplan to the development of various building prototypes, tenant layouts, and architectural details. .

Port Royal Apartments is a new housing complex consisting of 60 two- and credit three-bedroom units, This project is one of the largest multi-family tax developments in South Carolina to be LEED certified under the LEED for Homes Finance and Program. In addition to funding by the South Carolina State Housing Development Authority, this project was one of the few projects in the country to be selected by USDA Rural Development through a competitive process that promotes green program involvement, the “Energy Efficiency Initiative”. When complete, this project will be LEED for Homes Silver and Energy Star certified, and will also receive dual certification under the US Department of Energy Builder’s Challenge and National Association of Home Builders Green Silver program. I assisted heavily with the LEED for Homes and US Department of Energy Builder’s Challenge documentation process throughout the entire magement of the project from concept to completion. One of the unique components of this project, especially for an affordable housing development, is the 60kw solar system used for energy generation. I assisted with coordinationof extensive reviews by the local architectural design review board to assure the project would be complimentary to the surrounding coastal resort community. Exterior and interior features and material finishes provide a market rate appeal for this low-income housing community.

I assisted with numerous projects located within the American Tobacco Campus at Durham, NC for the client Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse of Baltimore, MD. Various tenant upfits, renovations, and other services were delivered for the Old Bull and Noell Buildings, as well as, the American Tobacco Campus’ “crown jewel” the Coal Shed Restaurant. The Coal Shed Restaurant project was never completed due to numerous issues resulting from the 2008 nationwide economic recession.

Developing an elegant prototype building for Crescent State Bank was the first professional project that I ever worked on assisting architect Larry Deckard with completion and management of all drawings, as well as assistance with project management and coordination. As a young intern architect, working on this project from intial design conception through constructed and occupiable space, this project gave me a great sense of accomplishment as this was my first ever built object.
