Brief Exploration of Social housing in Sevillas Neighborhoods

This Project of Sevilla came from a First-Place prize in an anonymous competition for the promotion of social housing in one of the most prominent neighborhoods of Sevilla. Located near the Plaza de Espana, these Apartments are in close quarters with Sevilla’s top tourist attractions along with its University. It resides right next to a student housing apartment which typically tends to be more social due to its student engagement. The proposal for this competition called for the utilization of maximum height. With this in mind, there would be more use of the ground floor, allowing for visual pedestrian permeability and more sunlight to reach the vacant spaces below. Seven towers are arranged randomly on the site, however with the intent to widen the pedestrian paths and allow for visual connections and optimum sunlight. Viviendos Por el Poveneir addresses the different relationships between its environment and its inhabitants.

The Nexus Project in Downtown Lubbock is an innovative Architectural endeavor focused on creating dynamic social spaces inspired by Ray Oldenburg’s concept of the “third place.” The program includes micromanufacturing facilities such as a Winery and Roastery production, offering a blend of artisanal craft and community engagement. Additionally, the project features a Business Incubator, closely tied to the local university, providing students with valuable internship experiences. By fostering connections between education, industry, and community, the Nexus Project aims to promote resilience and collaboration within the downtown area. This forward-thinking initiative enhances the urban fabric and supports a vibrant, interconnected community.
