GSWNY Day Camp Programs Grades K- 6 Session Three – July 21 to July 25, 2014
NEW! The Great Camp Cook-Off! There is nothing like cooking a meal over a campfire or baking a cake in a Dutch oven. Girls will experiment with different cooking methods, create their favorite recipes, make it and test it out on their fellow campers during the great camp cook-off at the end of the week. Recipe books will also be created so girls can take home their favorite dishes and share them with family and friends. Girls will earn requirements towards the following petal and legacy badges Daisy – Mari’s Petal (Responsibility for What I Say and Do) Brownie – Snacks Junior – Simple Menus Cadette – New Cuisines
Session Five– August 4 to August 8, 2014 (Camp Piperwood Only)
NEW! On My Honor This week is dedicated to celebrating the history and traditions of Girl Scouting. Girls will spend time learning popular songs from early Girl Scout years, making traditional crafts and creating delicious traditional Girl Scout meals and snacks. All this plus games, hiking, archery, laughter and friends. Girls will earn requirements towards the following petal and skill builder Daisy – Vi’s Petal (Sister to Every Girl Scout) Brownie – Brownie Girl Scout Ways Junior – Junior Girl Scout Ways Cadette – Cadette Girl Scout Ways
Session Four– July 28 to August 1, 2014
NEW! Silly Scientists Attention little scientists, it’s time to work in the lab to make really cool and exciting science experiments. Have fun with your fellow scientists as you create mixtures such as bubbles, crystals or rock candy. Oh the creativity and experiments will be endless! At the end of the week share all of your creations at the camp wide science fair.
