The wellbeing of girls continues to be challenged by factors outside of their control, and Girl Scouting facilitates brave spaces for girls to be unapologetically themselves, explore beyond limitation, and become empathetic leaders of our collective future. Girl Scouts has always been a place where every girl is welcomed, supported, and inspired to lead and make a difference.
Even as our council experiences transition, the resilience of our girls, volunteers, and staff shines through. Their commitment to one another and to making the world a better place is the heart of the Girl Scout difference.
Youth and families need Girl Scouting, and together we're working toward an even braver and bolder future through our 2025-2028 Girl Scouts of Western New York Strategic Plan. Our work together is one that is rooted in a collective sense of belonging, creating space for every girl to thrive and building a future grounded in connection, leadership, and purpose.
Yours in Girl Scouting,

Our Volunteers Investing in Our Girls
2024 Financial Highlights
4,543
Across Girl Scouts of Western New York, volunteers share their talents in a variety of ways. Caring adults serve as Troop Leaders, parent volunteers, and trip chaperones throughout the community. In our Service Units, dedicated individuals serve in leadership roles working in Operations, Finance, and Volunteer and Program Coordination. At the council level, volunteers participate in “Friends Of” groups at our camp properties, as well as the Outdoor Programming Committee, Gold Award Mentors, and our Board of Directors. Our Council Delegates also form the core group of our Volunteer Advisory Panel, which meets twice yearly to offer insight on council planning.
Girl Scout volunteers do it all, and we are so grateful for your dedication. Your creativity and heart make a difference in the lives of Girl Scouts, helping them grow and thrive. Thank you for your commitment to your troop, community, and the Girl Scout Movement!

GSWNY owns and maintains nearly 1,800 acres of wooded land, with four primary properties: Camp Seven Hills, Camp Piperwood, Camp Timbercrest, and Camp Windy Meadows. Our camps have always been a sanctuary of adventure, learning, and personal growth. Through outdoor exploration, leadership-building activities and teamwork, Girl Scouts leave camp with valuable life skills and cherished memories in a space free from screens and social media.
Our goal is to make sure everyone has access to green spaces and can enjoy the beauty of nature; our properties are used for camping and outdoor activities year-round, and play host to both day and resident camps during the summer. In 2024, 1,338 girls and 613 adults were able to develop or enhance their outdoor and leadership skills through Outdoor Programming, and an additional 2,223 Girl Scouts made memories and lifelong friendships at summer camp.

Juliette Gordon Low Planned Giving Society
You can create a lasting legacy for future Girl Scouts in our community through a planned gift. Including a bequest in your estate ensures the next generation of girls can enjoy Girl Scouting just as much as you have! Large or small, the most meaningful gifts come from people like you, who deeply care about the work we are doing and want to ensure it continues well into the future.
Each year as our Juliette Gordon Low Society grows, so does the impact that these planned gifts have on our future Girl Scouts. These gifts go above and beyond what we are able to donate within our lifetime, and they fund our passions within Girl Scouts.
For information on the many ways to invest in our girls or joining the Juliette Gordon Low Planned Giving Society, please contact Jerilyn J. Hickey, CFRE at 716.935.6047 or jerilyn.hickey@gswny.org
