Why Girl Scout Camp?

We know you have a variety of summer camps and activities to choose from, that’s why we’ve made the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada camps so special. Backed by more than 100 years of experience and accredited by the American Camp Association, attending camp is an opportunity for girls to practice conflict resolution, learn teamwork and improve their communication skills, all in a supervised and collaborative environment.

Explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) while venturing into zoology, detective work, and world exploration. Ducktail Day Camp will be an incredible experience where campers build solid friendships and create unforgettable memories.

Family and Troop Camp

Experience camp with your girl while participating in archery, hiking, arts and crafts, and cooking over an open fire. Adults and girls alike will learn something new while bonding in a fun and safe environment.

Discover nature, make new friends, and gain a sense of independence all while tucked among the Ponderosa Pines and breathing the cool mountain air. Camp sessions are broken into themes to suit every interest. Campfires, friendships, and outdoor exploration are all part of each girl’s camp experience.

Campers venture into zoology, world exploration and robotics while learning the fundamentals of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Select sessions offer a Thursday overnight option for Juniors and Cadettes. Girl Scout members earn camp-exclusive badges!

To meet the needs and enjoyment of each age, Camp Foxtail is divided into progressive age groups. Each age group participates in activities that offer a positive experience with opportunities to develop lifelong skills and memories.

Entering Grades 6-8 Cadettes choose new areas each week: • • • •

Archery - Hone your specific skills and work on score keeping Sling Shot - Practice, practice, practice in our dynamic range Adventure Course - Work with bunk mates through the low ropes elements and navigate through the spider web to make it across monkey bridge. You’ll have to use safety training and team building skills to succeed.

STEM/Outdoor Adventure – Learn about Science, Technology, Engineering & Math through experiments and challenges Connections (for 7 day campers) Sign up for a connection that interests you.

You’ll develop your skills in archery, team building, art, slingshot, or whatever connection you like!

What if my girl wants to attend camp with a friend? While camp is a chance for girls to make new friends, we understand the importance of experiencing camp with a familiar buddy. We try our best to accommodate all buddy requests on a first come, first serve basis.

Can I send mail to Foxtail Overnight Camp?

Campers love receiving mail, however due to the primitive location of camp, it takes a while for camp to receive mail. During our check-in process we encourage parents to pre-write mail for their camper. This will then be delivered to girls on the day specified.

Registration Girl Scout Summer Camp Registration will be open on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration will be accepted until a program session is full. Online registration is encouraged but if you require a paper registration please contact us at 702-385-3677, or stop by our council office and we will be happy to help you register.
