Blast Off to Discovery: A Space Enrichment Adventure! with Mrs. Stavy & Mrs. Monica Grades Middles & Littles, Location: Little’s Cottage, $300

Get ready for an out-of-this-world adventure! In our Space Enrichment class, our explorers will embark on an exciting journey through space. Through hands-on activities, our astronauts will discover the wonders of the solar system, experience the moon’s surface through sensory play, explore constellations, and even experiment with the concept of gravity. They’ll build rockets, create planet art, and dive into engaging science experiments that bring space to life! We look forward to sparking a love of space exploration in our astronauts!

Clay & Crafts with Ms Abbi and Ms Kait Grades Middles, Pre-K, Kindergarten, Location: Juniper, $300 (maximum 18 students)

Join us for Clay & Crafts, a hands-on enrichment where little artists can explore creativity while strengthening their fine motor skills! Designed for Middles and Pre-K friends, this fun-filled sculpting, painting, and crafting hour helps develop coordination and imagination It’s the perfect way to wind down after a busy school day

Come get messy, make masterpieces, and create with friends!

Knitting Club with Ms. Long Grades 2-6, Location: Library, $310 (maximum 10 students)

Have you seen other kids knitting around our campus and you wish you knew how to knit, too? Come join the knitting club! If you don’t know how to knit, come learn the basics. You will learn to cast on, knit stitch, and cast off to complete a knitting project on your own. If you already know how to knit, come learn a new stitch, how to follow a knitting pattern, how to increase and decrease your stitches, or how to knit in the round! Yarn and needles will be provided. Students are also welcome to bring their own supplies, so they can continue working on projects at home.

Music and Movement with Games with Miss Anna Grades Middles, Pre-K & Kindergarten, Location: Field, $300

Join Miss Anna as we play in a music and movement class for Littles, Middles, and Pre-K on Mondays on the field We will be exploring the world through dancing and singing with the instruments and movement As they groove to the beat, they learn to balance, jump, hop, and skip together with friends Come dance with Miss Anna

Process Art with Dr Mindy Grade K-2, Location: Art Garden, $300

What happens when a bouncy ball is submerged in paint and then thrown at the wall? Let's find out in this hands-on, messy, and experiential process art class Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in various mediums using nontraditional methods While the focus is on the experience of making art, there will be some abstract take-home pieces that represent the dynamic exploration.

Wicked Scenes & Songs with Ms. Fillers Grades 1-6, Location: MPR, $275

In this twist on The Wizard of Oz, the so-called wicked witch saves animals and is best friends with the good witch...until the wizard changes everything. If you love to act and play theatre games, you’ll gain confidence as you develop the skills and empathy needed to bring these extraordinary characters to life, sing their songs, and perform together on the last day, May 12, 2025.

Yoga Adventures with Mrs Law

Grades Middles & Pre-K, Location: Rosewood, $300

Join Mrs Law for a fun-filled yoga class, where each week your child will embark on a guided yoga adventure filled with imagination and movement After the yoga journey, they will enjoy a delicious, healthy snack to fuel their growing bodies!

Tuesdays

Chess with Mountain Lake Chess Grades K-6, Location: Room 10, $300

International Master Larry Evans and staff have been teaching chess for over 30 years in more than 60 schools throughout San Diego County. Their program has produced national champions at every scholastic level. Chess is a great workout for mathematical muscles. Students learn to think ahead, solve problems, evaluate multiple alternatives, and anticipate consequences. Chess improves spatial reasoning, visual memory, attention span, logical reasoning power, and self-confidence. The program, dubbed "The Evans Method" by the United States Chess Federation, includes instruction, formal and casual play, and team events on a giant, Harry Potter-like, chess set. Students receive prizes at the end of each class to reward participation and every student receives a trophy at the end of each session. Beginners are welcome.

Clay & Art Workshop with Ms. Walters Grades K-6, Location: Art Bungalow, $350 (maximum 10 students)

Get your hands ready for a creative adventure this spring! In this hands-on workshop, we’ll use clay to bring the vibrant season to life Students will learn to shape and mold their own clay creations inspired by all things spring – from blooming flowers and buzzing bees to colorful butterflies and sunny skies You will be guided step-by-step in the art of sculpting and designing Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned clay artist, this workshop is perfect for all skill levels At the end, you'll have your very own clay masterpieces to take home and display! Join us and get ready to get a little messy, have lots of fun, and celebrate the beauty of spring through art!

Craft Club with Ms Long Grades 2-6, Location: Library, $325 (maximum 12 students)

If you enjoy making things by hand, this is the place for you This club will offer free choice exploration of a variety of project types and materials Students might choose from a variety of fiber crafts such as knitting, weaving, sewing, and crocheting. They might also explore paper crafts such as decoupage or collage. Materials will be provided, and students are welcome to supplement with their own tools and supplies as desired. Bring your creativity and join us!

Crafty Bites with Mrs. Herrera Grades Middles & Pre-K, Location: Rosewood, $300 (maximum 10 students)

In this delightful afterschool enrichment, little ones will gather to create and enjoy a tasty snack together, fostering their culinary curiosity and teamwork. After savoring their yummy treat, the fun will continue as we dive into a creative craft project, making beautiful keepsakes to take home. This engaging enrichment class is designed to nourish both their tummies and their imaginations, providing a joyful and enriching experience each week.

Sewing with Dr Mindy Grades 3-6, Location: MPR, $300

Join this creative and fun class in sewing arts while learning a valuable, lifelong skill! Students will use a needle and thread to make stitches and begin basic embroidery We will also use sewing machines to create more extensive projects of each artist's choosing A variety of fabrics and materials are provided for inspired designs

Street Hockey with Coach Whelan Grades 3-6, Location: Sport Court/Gym, $290

Join us for a fun, high-energy street hockey class! Learn and improve your stickhandling, passing, shooting, defensive skills, goaltending techniques, understanding of positions, and strategic thinking while getting a great workout All equipment is provided, and eye protection is mandatory for all students Players will use plastic sticks and hollow plastic pucks. Safety, sportsmanship, and fun are our top priorities! Players will receive a healthy snack each week.

Water World with Mrs. Tarantino Grades Middles, PreK, Kindergarten, Location: Cypress, $300

If your child loves water, Water World is the perfect place for them! They'll dive into a world of fun with exciting activities like water balloon tosses, water bowling, and water piñatas. With endless games and creative experiences, your child will discover just how much you can do with water! They'll also enjoy making colorful art, crafting discovery bottles, and whipping up refreshing fruit-infused drinks. From painting with water to exploring the wonders of liquid, Water World is sure to make a splash!

Writing Wizards with Mrs. Lagorio Grades 1-4, Location: Room 10, $300

Step into a world of once upon a time and happily ever after in this enchanting after-school writing class! Young storytellers will dream up daring heroes, clever tricksters, wicked villains, and fantastical creatures as they craft their very own fairy tales Each week, students will explore the magic of storytelling through fun, hands-on activities designing their own kingdoms, creating enchanted maps, writing spellbinding adventures, and even inventing their own fairy tale twists! Along the way, they’ll learn how to bring their stories to life with vivid descriptions, exciting plots, and unforgettable characters By the end of this magical journey, every child will have their own beautifully illustrated Fairy Tale Book to treasure forever

Active Adventures with Mrs Law Grades Middles & Pre-K, Location: Gym, $300

In this class, your little one will have fun and move their bodies with Mrs. Law. Children will develop essential motor skills, balance, and coordination through age-appropriate activities and games in a safe and playful environment. From crawling through tunnels to balancing on colorful mats, every class promises a blend of excitement and development.

Cooking Camp with Ms Hurley Grades K-6, Location: Sandbox Kitchen, $315, (No class first week of March - Class begins 3/13)

Calling all chefs! In this hands-on cooking camp, children will mix, measure, and munch their way through a variety of fun and delicious recipes From savory snacks to sweet treats, students will build kitchen confidence by exploring new flavors, practicing essential cooking skills, and learning about kitchen safety With plenty of stirring, rolling, and tasting, this class is the perfect recipe for fun!

Comic World Creators with Ms Tamayo Grades 2-4, Location: Room 7, $300

Ever dreamed of creating your own graphic novel? In this class, you'll become a real graphic novel creator!

Imagine your characters leaping off the page, your stories bursting with action! Over ten super-fun sessions, you'll learn all the secrets, from inventing awesome heroes and villains to drawing dynamic pictures and writing snappy words Get ready to unleash your imagination and bring your graphic novel world to life!

Fairytale Stories & Crafts with Ms Sunny Grades Pre-K & Kindergarten, Location: Spruce, $300 (maximum 9 students)

What do you get when you combine fairytales with arts and crafts? Happy and fun creators! Ms Sunny will share some of the best arts and crafts for students to keep them learning and exploring with a fairytale-styled education! We will learn and explore fairytale stories and create fun arts and crafts projects. On the last day of the 10 weeks, we will have the Mad Hat Tea Party, and you are invited! We will provide snacks every session. If your kids have any food allergies, please let us know.

Giggles & Games with Mrs. Tarantino Grades Middles, Pre-K, Kindergarten, Location: Cypress, $300 (maximum 10 students)

In this exciting hour, your child will dive into a variety of fun, age-appropriate games, including board games, card games, and interactive music and movement activities. Along the way, they'll develop important skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. By taking turns, working collaboratively, and thinking critically, they'll practice key social and cognitive skills all while giggling and having an absolute blast! It's a fun-filled hour that encourages learning through play!

Spanish with Mrs. Herrera Grades Littles & Middles, Location: Rosewood, $300 (maximum 10 students)

Bienvenidos a la classes de español! Mrs Veronica Herrera is a native Spanish speaker and will be teaching a lively Spanish class that introduces young learners to basic Spanish vocabulary and phrases through interactive activities, songs, games, and storytelling

Fridays

Fun on the Field! with Ms. Hurley Grades K-5, Location: Field, $250, (No class first week of March - Class begins 3/14)

This FUN class will introduce students to popular sports and games loved by kids of all ages at Gillispie, giving them the confidence they need to join in on the action at recess. From kick-bat and dodgeball to capture the flag, sharks and minnows, soccer, and more, we'll cover it all! Emphasis is placed on teamwork and sportsmanship, providing a great opportunity for everyone to play, learn, and grow together. The best way to learn how to play a game is to PLAY IT!

Ninja Camp with Ms Sunny Grades Pre-K & Kindergarten, Location: Spruce, $300 (maximum 9 students)

Your Ninja’s day at Ninja Camp will be brimming with exciting activities, skill development, culinary delights, and Ninja snacks During the 10 weeks, we will learn how to cook like a Ninja, dress like a Ninja (we will make a Ninja T-shirt with his/her name in Japanese), write and speak like a Ninja (we will learn Japanese), paint like a Ninja, and act like a Ninja (we will learn beginner’s KARATE) On the last day of the 10 weeks, we will have a Ninja party and you and your are invited! No prior Ninja experience is required!

Space Storytelling with Ms. Tamayo Grades 2-4, Location: Room 7, $275

From distant galaxies to our own solar system, the universe is full of mysteries waiting to be explored. Join our enrichment and become a cosmic explorer! We'll investigate planets, learn about stars, and even imagine what life might be like in other worlds. Through hands-on activities, creative projects, and captivating stories, we'll unlock the secrets of the universe together. Get ready for an adventure that's truly out of this world!
