IMG IS GIVING BACK! Happy Giving Season!

The holidays are quickly approaching and the team here at Integrated Media Group recently kicked off our internal giving campaign, IMGives, to celebrate! A recently-established tradition, the IMG team annually picks a charity to which we donate funds and/or goods.

IMGives began in 2019 when IMG proudly worked with Child & Family RI’s Adopt-A-Family program to purchase $500 worth of goods like clothes, food, and toys for a local family in need. This experience - raising the funds, going out to pick the perfect gifts out for our assigned family, and more - was incredibly rewarding for IMG and motivated us to continue this effort.

After a brief break in 2020 due to COVID, IMGives has returned in 2021!

The IMG family is bigger and more widespread than ever - with over 40 team members living in three different countries and eighteen U.S states.

Despite the distance, we have been able to come together virtually to raise funds. We are incredibly excited to spread the holiday joy with our 2021 campaign!

This year, IMG has decided to work with Toys for Tots. Founded in 1947 by the Marine Corps Reserve, Toys for Tots is a nationwide program that allows individuals and organizations to donate new, unwrapped toys to children in need who may not be able to receive gifts during the holidays otherwise. IMG is working with the Rhode Island branch of the charity to provide local children with gifts to unwrap during the holidays.

As of December 1st, 2021, we have raised more than $450 - and our campaign is still in full swing!

The Perfect Pen for your Special Someone The holidays are around the corner, which means the busiest shopping season is among us! A quality pen can make a fantastic gift for the writer, professional, or enthusiast in your life. There are a large variety of pens out there, and it can be overwhelming if you don’t know what you’re looking for - so we created this helpful guide so that you can choose the perfect pen!

Ballpoint Pens - Most ballpoint pens are either a twist style pen, meaning that the pen operates by twisting it open and close in order to write. Another variation is a click pen in which there is a clicker on top of the pen that pushes up and down in order to write.

Fountain Pens - Fountain pens have a calligraphy style nib that uses a wide range of filling systems and offer a wide range of inks and colors. These pens take some time to learn how to use but once you catch on, they are addictive.

Standard Ballpoint Ink - Ballpoint pen ink contains an oil-based solvent and pigment for color. The ink flows from a thin tube or canister in the pen and through a small ball in the tip of the pen when you apply pressure to the ball.

Standard colors for ballpoint ink are black, blue, red and green but are available in many other colors. Ballpoint pen ink dries almost instantly as it touches paper, but because it is oil-based, it can smear Rollerball Pens - Rollerball pens usually have a cap that stays on the pen when not in use. When you are ready to write with the pen, the cap needs to be taken off.

Rollerball Ink (water-based) - Water-based ink for rollerball require less pressure on the rollerball tip to write. Water-based ink is less viscous than oil-based ink and deeply saturates the paper, resulting in a dark color. Water-based ink comes in a variety of colors, but Black, Blue and Red are the most common. Water-based inks dry much quicker and will not smudge Gel Ink - Gel pen ink contains colorful pigment suspended in a thick, water-based gel. The high viscosity of the gel supports more pigment than standard gel ink and also accommodates different types of pigments such as copper and iron oxides. Gel pen ink is thick and opaque and available in almost every color. Gel inks are usually very smooth, require little pressure to write. They are also slower to dry and can smudge if not dried.

Something to keep in mind is that ink refills are not interchangeable, and pertain only to the specific pen it is purchased. Choose the perfect pen for your special someone this holiday season by visiting their website www.pensavings.com.

Werther’s Hot Toddies Ingredients:

Ingredients:

- 2 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish - ⅟₃ cup lemon juice - 6 oz. whiskey or bourbon - Lemon slices, for garnish

- 2 oz. Baileys

- 10 Werther's Candies, crushed - ½ cup caramel - 2 c. water - 10 Werther's Candies, whole

Instructions:

1. Add chocolate syrup to inside of two cocktail glass.

1. Place crushed Werther's on a shallow plate, and caramel on a separate shallow plate. Dip rims first in caramel,and then in crushed Werther's.

- Ice

2. Add vodka, Kahlua, Baileys, and heavy cream to a cocktail shaker.

4. Strain into glasses and garnish with chocolate shavings.

Loan 101: Cash-Out Refinance There are many different types of loans out there, and they can all get confusing to the beginner. We’ll be breaking down one of the more common loan types we see from homeowners - one that can be particularly helpful during the winter months.

What Is Cash-Out Refinancing?

A Cash-out refinancing loan replaces your current home loan with a bigger mortgage, letting you leverage the equity you’ve built up in your home and access the difference between the two mortgages in cash. That cash can go toward virtually any purpose, such as home remodeling, consolidating high-interest debt, or other financial goals.

How It Works

Cash-out Refinance A cash-out refinance allows clients to cash-out equity that is sitting in a property and not earning income. We can refinance up to a 75% cash-out. Seasoning may vary.

This allows you to rehab a property, rent the units with executed leases, and then do a cash-out refi on the newly appraised value of the property.

The program allows us to get you access to the equity that is just sitting in your property.

It’s very similar to a traditional mortgage refinance and can mean a much lower interest rate than what you currently have. However, with Cash-Out you can withdraw any difference right away. For example, say the remaining balance on your current mortgage is $150,000 and your home is currently worth $400,000. In this case, you have $250,000 in home equity. You’re saving money because of the lower interest rate, but now you can fund those kitchen and bathroom upgrades you’ve been talking about all year.

During the slow real estate season, you can bump up what your home is worth and be ready to jump right into the spring busy season. Bacon Lover Recipes Bacon is versatile, indulgent, downright delicious and simply is the perfect addition to your favorite holiday dishes. From appetizers to dessert, this feel good food is the ultimate crowd pleaser. Try one of these tasty dishes for your holiday meal.

Appetizer: Bacon

Beer Cheese Dip

Total Time: 45 minutes | Yields: 12 people

Ingredients:

- 8 oz. cream cheese softened - 1-12 oz. beer (IPA or dark brown ale) - 6 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese about 8 ounces - Generous dashes of hot sauce - Chips for dipping

- ½ pound bacon slices - 1 tbsp. butter - ½ yellow onion diced - 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard - 1 tbsp. stone ground mustard

Directions: 1. Heat oven to 350 ˚F. Add bacon to skillet over medium heat. Sauté until just crispy then remove from heat. Cool and then chop bacon.

2. In a saucepan, melt butter. Add in onions and cook until soft. Whisk in mustard and add beer, scraping up bits from bottom of pan. Increase heat and bring to boil stirring occasionally.

3. Add in cream cheese and reduce heat to medium. Whisk cream cheese into beer mixture until cheese melts and becomes creamy. Turn off heat.

4. Set aside ¼ cup of shredded cheddar. Add the rest of cheddar cheese 1 cup at a time to the beer mixture, stirring until cheese melts and is smooth.

5. Stir in ¾ of the bacon, saving the remaining bits for the top of dip.

6. Spray baking dish and pour dip into the dish and top with remaining cheese and crumbled bacon. Bake 20-25 minutes. Serve with chips.

Main Entree:

Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf Total time: 1 hour 25 minutes | Serves: 6

Ingredients:

- ¾ c. milk

1. Preheat the oven to 350˚. Pour the milk over the bread in a large bowl and let soak a few minutes. Use your fingers to smush up the bread into little pieces.

- 3 slices crusty Italian bread - 1 ½ lb. ground beef - 3 large eggs - 2 carrots, grated (about 1 cup) - ¾ c. grated parmesan cheese - ¼ c. minced fresh parsley - 2 tsp. Italian seasoning - ¾ tsp. kosher salt - ¼ tsp. black pepper - 8 slices bacon - 2 14 ½-ounce cans diced tomatoes - 3 tbsp. packed brown sugar - 1 tsp. mustard powder - Pinch of cayenne pepper - A few dashes of Worcestershire sauce - Steamed green beans, for serving

2. Add the beef, eggs, carrots, parmesan, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper to the bread mixture. Knead with your hands until everything is completely mixed.

3. Place the meat mixture on a foil-lined baking sheet and form it into a loaf shape. Arrange the bacon slices on the meatloaf, overlapping slightly. Bake until the internal temperature reaches 160˚ on a meat thermometer and the meatloaf is no longer pink in the middle, 50 to 60 minutes.

Dessert: Maple

Bacon Cupcakes

Total Time: 2 hours | Serves: 12

Ingredients: - 2 ½ cups all purpose flour - 2 tsp. baking powder - 1 tsp. salt - 2 cups granulated sugar - 2 sticks butter softened - 4 eggs room temp

- 1 tsp. vanilla extract - 1 cup milk - ½ tsp. cinnamon - 3 tbsp. maple syrup - 1/3 cup bacon crumbled

Frosting Ingredients: - 2 Sticks Butter softened - 1 ¼ cups Confectioners Sugar - 1 tsp. Maple Extract - ½ cup Bacon cooked/ crumbled

4. Meanwhile, make the sauce: Combine the tomatoes with their juices, brown sugar, mustard powder, cayenne and Worcestershire sauce in a large saucepan. Bring to a simmer, partially cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened but still saucy, about 30 minutes.

Directions:

5. Cut the meatloaf into thick slices and top with the sauce.

Serve with green beans.

3. With mixer on low, add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture slowly. Add the milk with mixer still running. Fold in the crumbled bacon.

1. Preheat oven to 350˚F. Prepare 24 muffin cups with liners or non stick spray. In a large bowl whisk flour, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon.

2. In a medium bowl using mixer, beat together the butter, sugar, vanilla, and maple syrup until fluffy. Add eggs to butter mixer one at a time.

4. Scoop the cupcake batter into your muffin tins so that each cup is 3/4 full. Bake for 1825 minutes, until slightly golden.

Leftovers Tip: If you find yourself with leftover meatloaf, remember that it makes an insanely good sandwich the next day!

For the Frosting: 1. In a large bowl beat together the softened butter, confectioners sugar, and maple extract until smooth and fluffy.

2. Pipe onto cooled cupcakes and top with bacon as desired.

Changes to the PPP application process enabled her to use her gross income versus her net profit to complete the PPP loan application with a local credit union. Lindemann was accepted for the PPP loan, clearing the way for her business to move in a positive direction as COVID-19 restrictions lift.

The Rhode Island Small Business Development Center at URI is part of a national network of nearly 1,000 business assistance centers that provide counseling and training to small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. Partially funded through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, we help businesses to succeed from start-up to maturity.
