If you have not created a Gilbert Recreation Account, you must create one in order to register. If you have created one and can’t access your account, please call 480-503-6200.

Withdrawals, transfers and refunds are allowed up to 10 days prior to the program start date, less a $5 administrative fee. The administrative fee does not apply when the Town initiates a class cancelation due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. In this case the full class fee will be credited back to the customer account. Classes priced at $10 or less are nonrefundable. No refunds or transfers within 10 days prior to the program start date. Please notice that the refund/credit timeline has changed to 10 days prior to the program start date. Click here for more information.

Adaptive Recreation & Events DANCE AND TUMBLE

Adaptive dance & tumble provides exercise and social opportunities for your athlete. In this class we will have fun exploring movement concepts, developing dance skills, strengthening the body and brain and interacting with others. We will also proceed around an obstacle course focusing on basic tumble skills. HANDMADE CRAFTS

Come have fun with your friends while making a new craft each week. Each handmade craft will be a great keepsake item for your-self or to give as a gift. AR Classes ADAPTIVE SUMMER STEM CAMP

Join Kids Connect for our Summer S.T.E.M. camp! Keep your child engaged in learning over break with hands-on activities that include science, engineering and art which are taught by 2 experienced special educators. Our camp will provide more than supervision and incorporate a schedule that teaches social skills, sensory regulation, behavior management and teamwork, along with themed activities. Low teacher to student ratio is a priority. Space will be limited. SANCHIN-RYU KARATE-ADAPTIVE STUDIES

Have fun learning the fundamental movements of Sanchin-Ryu. This is a slower paced cardio workout designed for beginners and those with physical limitations. Come explore the great outdoors and see some amazing animals at Bearizona! Your child will be enchanted by visits from the Fairytale Princesses each day as they dance along to their favorite songs. Curriculum includes ballet, tap and jazz at a professional dance studio. Campers will experience socialization, purposeful play and teamwork to improve their cognitive, emotional and physical wellbeing. SPORTBALL CAMPS

Sportball utilizes developmentally appropriate techniques to enhance motor skills, social skills and sport strategy. In order to develop each child’s independence, confidence and teamwork skills, we respectfully request parents remain outside of the classroom. If there is anxiety, coaches will work with parent and child in class to reach a level of comfort. All coaches are professionally trained and must pass a rigorous Sportball certification process. Sportball provides all equipment.

SPORTBALL INDOOR SOCCER CLINIC

This soccer program will allow your child to Refine, Repeat and Rehearse skills indoors during the off-season. This week-long program offers fitness, skills & scrimmage in a fun, high energy environment. Skill levels range from “thinks soccer ball is a chair” to Pelé. Children are challenged and progressed at their individual skill level. Skills include dribbling, passing, shooting, positional play, footwork, goal tending, teamwork, throw-ins and kicking techniques. Coaches are trained soccer athletes who have a passion for sharing their love of soccer. LEGO and Minecraft come together in one exciting camp! Start off by building LEGO creations inspired by your favorite Minecraft adventures and characters and then bring them to life with Stop Motion Animation to make your own short LEGO Movies! Camp will challenge students to develop teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills while they learn STEM concepts and show off their creativity. Stop Motion Animation lessons are taught using Apple iPads and on apps you can download at home, so the fun can continue after camp is over. PRIMARY CONNECTIONS ENRICHMENT CAMP

This enrichment camp is designed for those trying to catch up or even get ahead of the curve entering 2nd grade. It’s got just the right mix of reading, writing and math combined with science, games and arts & crafts to strike just the right balance of work and play. We’re dedicated to building confidence, improving motivation and refining concepts of shape, space, time, colors and numbers. We’ll practice these skills to help use them with ease. MOVIES BY KIDS is a creative program designed for teaching young students the exciting process of movie making and animation. All student films will be made available for download online approximately 2-4 weeks after each camp has ended. Play-Well TEKnologies was founded by Tim Bowen in 1997. The Strand @ Gilbert will offer water activities for every age on 25 acres. PAWS 2 READ

Paws to Read pairs Delta-registered therapy animals and their handlers with young readers. Warm, brown eyes and happy grins make all the difference to children’s reading experiences resulting in an increase in reading levels and word recognition, and a higher desire to read and write. The animals listen and don’t tease, laugh, or judge the children. Plus, the animals love to be read to! Sign up for a therapy animal will begin at 10:15 a.m. for a 15-minute time slot between 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. Which animal the child will read to will be on a first-come, first-served basis the day of the program. ROBOT AMBASSADOR: NEBULA LIGHT BOXES

When a star explodes it creates an amazing display of colors, but you can’t hold that in your hands. With guidance from the Robot Ambassador, our craft project will help you capture and play with light! Using Mylar we will create loops and bends with concave surfaces that focus the light. The slightest changes in angles result in a dance of light in your “Nebula Light Box”.
