101 EN Membership

The European Economic Chamber – Global Commerce & Industry, with the abbreviation EEIGCham through the Central Office, provides this application for Membership under the guidelines of the EEIGCham Internal regulation Manual.

Membership Requirements: Members are companies and individual business executives that are engaged in activities related to investment, services, industry and commerce, on the host country. Membership can also include companies from third countries but operating in the host country.

Members’ category The Chamber includes: - Ordinary members - Honorary members - Extraordinary members - International members The Chamber up to date the members’ registrations file and can ask to the Central Office to have different members’ category.

Ordinary Members may be individuals, companies (whether it is private or public), or organizations having their head office on the host country and justifying their participation in the economic relationships.

Honorary Members The President of the delegation on the host Country may accept their membership to be free from membership fees payment, for a period that does not extend twelve months, until the 31st of December.

NOTES: Honorary members could not hold administrative or consultative positions in the EEIGCham and only has access to certain services.

Extraordinary Members Those who proved to be particularly worthy in the promotion of the economic relationships as well as other goals of the EEIGCham, under the proposition of the President of the Delegation.

International Members may be individuals, companies (whether it is private or public), or organizations:  having valid membership from other EEIGCham Delegation or Representation,  having standard subscription on the ORION platform.

The International Members have access to all benefits, services and programs from the EEIGCham Delegation as an Ordinary Members on the host country with the only exclusion of voting rights.

Membership Fees: Membership’s fees vary by delegation but are usually established according to the category structure and are paid on an annual or semester basis. Members are under the obligation to promptly pay the initiation fees and annual dues set by the Management Board of the Delegation.

Each Delegation is independent and free to have different membership fees and must ensure their responsibilities towards the Central Office, employees and suppliers.

Admission fees: The Board, to cover the administrative costs and promotional material provided to members, may require the payment of admission fees, which must be paid separately from membership fees and managed in a separate bank account exclusive for the purpose..

Exchange Services Agreement: The Board in order to promote the delegation and its activities can make exchange of services agreements, allowing companies in the media and advertising sector to join as Ordinary Members without an immediate physical payment.

International Markets One of the main purposes of the EEIGCham is opening new markets and improving the economic performance of members on the International Markets.

This information is essential in order to understand the economic mechanism of member companies to advice the managers and stockholders.

The International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities is a United Nations industry classification system classifying data according to kind of economic activity in the fields of production, employment, gross domestic product and other statistical areas.

ISIC is a basic tool for studying economic phenomena, fostering international comparability of data, providing guidance for the development of national classifications and for promoting the development of sound national statistical systems.

Detailed structure and explanatory notes: - ISIC Rev.4 Because of its international coverage the EEIGCham advises the use of ISIC nomenclature.

HS Harmonized Commodity Harmonized System (HS) is an internationally standardized system of names and numbers to classify traded products organized logically by economic activity or component material.

HS code consists of 6-digits. The first two digits designate the HS Chapter. The second two digits designate the HS heading. The third two digits designate the HS subheading. HS code 1006.30, for example indicates Chapter 10 (Cereals), Heading 06 (Rice), and Subheading 30 (Semimilled or wholly milled rice, whether or not polished or glazed).

The session of the Membership Application Form regarding to the Economic Activities and International Market are not mandatory, the proposed fields have the purpose facilitate the support of the EEIGCham to its members and make the most effective information.

NACE The Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community, commonly referred as NACE is the industry standard classification system used in the European Union. The current version is revision 2 and was established by Regulation (EC) No 1893/2006. Members can select YES and indicate which countries and products already export or import.

This information facilitates the work in the search for economic partners.

Committees

Special Committees

An EEIGCham committee is composed of CEOs or other executives from delegation’s member companies who meet regularly and who have a common set of interests or program of work.

Committees has an extremely important service within the Delegation structure, because they provide an opportunity for companies to network, gain strategic information, lobby with authorities, or simply make a positive change Committees provide an excellent infrastructure for networking and benchmarking among EEIGCham members.

In addition, they provide a platform that strengthens the leadership skills of corporate executives who choose to take an active role within one committee.

The nature of committees is as varied as the delegations themselves.

Consultative Committees The Consultative Committee is a group of members’ whose mission is discussing and presenting all issues of interest related to the sector’s committee.

The CEOs, administrators or Managers from companies, who are Ordinary Members, may participate in the Consultative Committee.

Notes: Every Consultative Committee is composed of representative members on the sector and must meet two times per year.

The Consultative Committee Economic & Business International Development is composed by Holding groups and companies with international offices or representations.

The Consultative committee Diplomacy and International Commerce is composed by Consulting Companies, law and Audit Firms, * The EEIGCham can reserved this committee to EEIGCham Commissioners

Executive Committees Members of the Executive Committees are appointed by the President of the Delegation in accordance with established procedures.

Economic Development Division: Indicates whether you would like to participate and where your type of business or interest falls within.

Events Division Business Ambassador Committee – This committee is exclusive to members of the delegation appoint by the Central Office as EEIGCham Ambassador.

Public Relations Committee - This committee is exclusive to members of the delegation with registration as Lobbyist.

Other committees are suitable for Events Companies, Marketing and Communication firms.

Finance & Administration Division: The committees of this division are fundamental to the smooth running of delegation and its financial activity.

Notes: Committee has consultative and voluntary functions.

Chapter: The Delegation is advisable to create several chapters for increased the comprehensiveness and branching of the National Network and decentralizing same EEIGCham services, providing local support to members with a gradual expansion, starting with the district capitals with higher population.

The BUSINESS CLUB provides a great way to promote business amongst members in an informal setting. Business Club's philosophy is “Give and Gets” - members are expected to focus on strengthening the relations with other members and giving referrals to other members to build relationships and receive referrals in return.
