With a well-thought-out construction, ALUMAC helped optimize the truck’s payload capacity—an important asset, as Group De Rudder aims to serve its clients in a green yet cost-effective manner, without making compromises.
Support from Trusted Partners
The electric truck was delivered by Mercedes dealer Ghistelinck, who, together with ALUMAC and G&V Energy Group, guided Group De Rudder in selecting and implementing this electric solution, ensuring a smooth integration into their transport operations. Thanks to the CAPS Energy Card—the fuel and charging pass from G&V Energy Group—the vehicle can be recharged quickly and efficiently. Group De Rudder’s new truck will be used daily for sustainable deliveries for their client Giardino, a specialist in garden fences, gates, and panels.
Ready for a Greener Future
Ghistelinck notes a growing demand for electric vehicles. ALUMAC Construct is also well prepared. “Such a truck body is quite specific. Not everyone in our sector is familiar with it. Our expertise and experience in tailor-made solutions are a great advantage. By thinking proactively with our clients, we make a real difference. The extra attention we give to a strong yet lightweight construction, aimed at maximizing payload capacity, is a great example of this,” says managing director Stefaan Crombez.
G&V Energy Group is also making significant investments in electric mobility. “Our energy hub network currently includes around thirty locations in Belgium with CCS charging points up to 400 kW. We are also actively rolling out a fast-charging infrastructure specifically for trucks. In 2026, we will open our first MCS (Megawatt Charging System), which will provide up to 1000 kW,” explains CEO Xavier Dewulf.
“With this investment, Group De Rudder is taking an important step toward more sustainable transport— without compromising on efficiency or service,” says Ignace De Rudder, managing director of Group De Rudder. “This is just the beginning. Later this year, we will commission our second electric truck, once again delivered by Ghistelinck.”
All five partners firmly agree: collaboration and innovation are essential to making the transport sector greener and future-proof. This achievement is the perfect proof.
