This inspires me as it reminds me that gems like this can be in the midst of chaos, and everything will be ok.

The steps are seamlessly integrated into the river. It invites you to relax and just watch the water.

To me, this shows the beauty within our own backyard and why we need to safeguard our environment for the future.

I’ve been working on the Port Hills so find working in such a natural environment and looking at the coast line everyday pretty inspring!

Maori trading routes, British idealism, brutalism, transitional uses post-quake and the potential of its future.

At sunrise, biking through Hagley Park represents a new day with new opportunities.

On my daily ride through Hagley Park I see every type of person enjoying this huge green space in our beautiful city.

Seeing changes in our city that make cycling possible, makes me feel connected to the environment and my fellow commuters when travelling by bike.

This tree stands out in its surroundings inspires me to be me, even if it means standing out and being different from others around me.

The Kate Shephered National Memorial represents the strength not just of women but of what you can achieve with unwavering spirit and persisitence and how you can make change.

I lived in a very crowded and busy city in the Philippines and these photos reminds me of the many things that inspired me to make the move to New Zealand.

I am inspired by our future city; shared public spaces suitable for future transport, our cultural heritage alongside permanent and temporary infrastructure.

Someone has created something interesting out of such an ordinary piece of infrastructure. It puts a smile on my face each time I pass it.

We live in one of the most beautiful environments and I think it is our duty to protect, enhance and find sustainable ways to leverage this for our wellbeing and success.

The emergency services, volunteers and community working together inspire me. They show resilience and integrity in a time of need (Nelson Fires, Feb 2019).

Hagley Park is special to me. It’s the old home of my club, Riccarton, and its in the city I love. The new Hagley Oval makes this spot exciting and its always full of pepople enjoying life.

I often take inspiration from the natural environment that surrounds me - taking walks up the port hills and travelling really motivates me to do and see as much as I can in my lifetime.

My orchid inspires me by showing me I can achieve something beautiful with a little perseverance and positivity.

This bridge/walkway is a shared space, I find the cooperation between the different people and modes of transport inspiring.

It’s pretty easy to be inspired in a city which has the ocean and mountains within a couple hours drive of each other.

Sometimes you need help or ideas and I catch myself looking at this wall in our office for inspiration. The words that stand out are SUCCESS, POWER CONFIDENCE AND HELP.

This is the view from our kitchen at work. The almost aerial view gives me time to look over the city and feel inspired to think openly about how I can apply data to create a better city.

From the top of the mountain I gain an appreciation for all the engineering challenges that have been overcome to make that ski field, this inspires me to overcome challenges I face at work.

This is Cass Bay, swimming here helps me to reset and re-energise as it is very peaceful and has beautiful scenery.

This shows what can be achieved by combining modern, resilient construction technologies with renewable materials into architecture which creates an experience from infrastructure rather than just a practical ‘roof overhead’ approach.
