Energy Modelling Methodology Concept Design Review Before any modelling is undertaken, GHD undertakes a ‘concept design review’ in conjunction with the other parties involved in the design team. The aim of this review would be to identify and categorise any potential issues that can be foreseen with the proposed designs.
In addition it would allow for any potential opportunities for further savings to be identified and nominated for consideration. This review would culminate with a brief report identifying the issues, opportunities and recommendations raised.

Residential Capability – in focus: Al Seef, Abu Dhabi GHD has been awarded a contract to design and supervise a large residential development called Al Seef which is one of the precincts that make up the Al Raha Beach development in Abu Dhabi. The development consists of several multi-level buildings that total a GFA of approximately 400,000 m 2. These include multi-level villas, multi-level apartment buildings (up to 23 storeys) and a multi-level hotel.
The development also includes community and retail facilities. Electrical Systems being designed include lighting, power, substations, ventilation, multilevel carpark controls and BMS. GHD uses several opearting centres across Australia, The Middle East, Kuala Lumpur, Philippines, Indonesia, and China in response to the scale and completion programme for the project.
Lighting and Daylighting Modelling In the even that the proposed design makes use of any natural Daylighting strategies, the building will require analysis with dedicated software. This will allow the effectiveness of the proposed Daylighting strategy to be ascertained and optimised if necessary. GHD can provide this modelling capbaility in-house using AGI, Ecotect, IES and other advanced software.
