Georgetown stood out to me for its unmatched sense of community, global perspective, and deep alumni network that truly lives the “Hoyas Helping Hoyas” spirit. From my first conversations with students, I knew the Hilltop was a place where people genuinely invested in one another’s success. And whether in D.C., New York, or across the globe, I saw firsthand how Georgetown’s alumni opened doors and created opportunities that made every career path feel within reach. The McDonough experience is uniquely global. I wanted to be in an environment of high achievers, in a city full of opportunities, and in a space where global mindsets are championed. I love that I have classmates from over 40 countries, which has allowed me to learn more about other cultures and be more mindful in other global organizations such as American Airlines.
What drew me to McDonough was its focus on cura personalis, which emphasizes care for the whole person and encourages personal growth and reflection. The program’s location in Washington, D.C., was also a major factor, as it offers access to a wide range of industries, global institutions, and policymaking bodies. Finally, McDonough’s strong global mindset, reflected in its diverse student body and internationallyfocused curriculum, made it the perfect place to prepare for leadership in an increasingly interconnected world. ”

“ One of my favorite parts of being at McDonough has been the chance to engage with thought leaders in Washington, D.C., through Georgetown-hosted events and initiatives. Programs like the Georgetown Dialogues Initiative, the Business of Sustainability Initiative, and events hosted by the Baratta Center for Global Business Education have been invaluable for networking, learning, and understanding how business leaders are thinking about climate, policy, and innovation. These forums allowed me to connect classroom learning with real-world impact and deepened my understanding of how to drive systemic change.”

Georgetown McDonough was instrumental in helping me achieve my career goal to pivot into investment banking. I received tremendous support from the Career Center, peer advisors, and alumni who provided me with guidance throughout my recruitment journey and internship.
”
I came to McDonough with a simple question: how can I take everything I’ve built — as an engineer, a small business founder, a curious problem-solver — and use it to drive change at scale? I was drawn to the high-stakes, fast-paced environments in consulting, and the MBA experience helped me grow into the kind of leader who can thrive there. The supportive faculty, collaborative peers, and career coaching resources helped me grow not just professionally, but personally. Georgetown has been more than a school — it’s proof that the right community can change the trajectory of your life.”
