welcomed everyone to the ceremony, and spoke on the historical significance of this charter ceremony to the Greek life here on campus and how the addition of Kappa Alpha Psi on campus added to the great diversity that is present here on campus. Dr. Sandberg commented on the momentous occasion as well and thanked specifically the eight charter members of Kappa Alpha Psi for their hard work and diligence in helping to charter this new organization. President Jones then took the podium, and discussed how honored he is to have been the president at Georgetown College during such a momentous ceremony, and also in

helping to lead the charge for a more diverse and inclusive campus community. President Jones also commented on the hard work that these eight men have put into this chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, and how their influence will inspire many young men from here on out to follow in their footsteps. Following President Jones’ remarks, Kappa Alpha Psi member William Thomas took the stage to welcome and introduce three men who were members of the Kappa Alpha Psi national committee who serve this southern region and all Kappa Alpha Psi chapters located here.
