Greetings

Dear reader, As we gather for the 5th Genki ever it seems like it was only yesterday we started it with 200 fantastic guests in Valby of 2009. You know who you guys are! We are happy to bring you another instance of Genki this time in a new venue here in Farum where we at Genki keep to our spirit and try to keep Genki fresh and innovative from year to year. For every second year we have held Genki we have moved, but you faithful fans have moved with us. For the new ones in the crowd we hope that you will have your first, but not last taste of the atmosphere that is Genki. It has been with the highest pleasure that all us volunteers have worked together to create what I consider to be the best convention gathering in Denmark, and I am glad to have you all here to share the ride. Please enjoy the work our fantastic crew has put together over the past months, and I personally hope you have an experience that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Weapons rules. if you have questions about weapons ask in the info desk. Weapons that is used dangerously, will be confiscated, REGARDLESS of how safe the weapon is deemed. Banned weapons: Metal weapons, such as:

Projectile weaponry, such as:

Chemical based weapons or explosives, such as:

Swords, Knives, Maces, Shuriken, Metal objects, Metal armor, (We allow Metal armor as long as it got no sharp edges. (I.E: round corners/edges). You will have to get your armor checked when you arrive at the convention though!) and Etc.

Air soft guns, Replica firearms, BB guns, Crossbows, Water guns and Etc. Exceptions will only be made if it is confirmed, upon inspection by the staff on site, that the firing mechanism has either been removed or is completely inoperable.

Fireworks, Smoke bombs, Etc.

Other bad ideas: Chainsaws, Power tools in general, Actual weapons you “made safe” by adding duct tape, e.g. staffs or baseball bats, KNIVES.

Rules The four golden free Hugs Rules: 1. Never ask others if they “wouldn’t want a hug“, as it makes some feel uncomfortable. Let them come to you if they want one. 2. Never stick your sign in people’s faces, or follow them around, to bring their attention to the fact that you’re holding a sign. 3. Never block doors, entrances, or areas with high amounts of traffic at the convention. 4. Respect a “no.” Not everyone are as happy about physical contact with people they don’t know. Photography Rules: Everyone is allowed to take pictures and film at Genki, however, you must follow the rules of Danish press ethics and laws on privacy, the most important of which we have emphasized below, as well as a few rules by us: §1. When taking a photo or recording a specific person (e.g. a portrait photo), you must have permission from that person as well as notify them of what the picture will be used for. Failing to do so makes the product illegal to publish in any shape or form (even on Facebook). §2. You do not need permission to take a general photograph of an event during the con. However, you are by law obligated to delete the photo should one of the people whose picture was taken ask for it. Any compromises are to be done privately. §3. If you have gained permission to take a picture of a person, you are no longer obligated by law to delete the picture, even if they change their mind later. However, this only applies if you use the photo within the frames of what you notified them of using it for. So people, please be 100% sure what you say okay to.

6

Rules §4. Copyright of photos and video footage belongs to the photographers and movie makers, however, it is entirely within Genki’s legal rights to limit how the photos/footage may be used and to demand for photos or parts of footage to be removed. §5. Photos and videos published to Genki’s/Genkai’s Facebook group galleries, by the photographers and movie makers who took them, will be considered as published under the Creative Commons DK license and will be free for all to use. §6. If you want to use photos or films from Genki commercially, you must first seek permission from the organizers via info@genki.dk . §7. Flash photography during the Cosplay Show is not allowed out of concern for the cosplayers and other participants. §8. Genki reserves the right to use all photos taken by Genki photographers for any and all future publicity, including, but not limited to, future conbooks and website posts. Should you not want this, please ask the photographer to delete your photo! Smoking, Drugs and Alcohol: 1. Smoking is not allowed indoors nor near the convention grounds. 2. Anyone caught taking drugs will be reported to the police immediately, and be expelled from the convention area. 3. At Genkis Cosplayshow every group perform a little show of 1-3 minutes. The show can contain everything the cosplayer can imagine. There will be awarded prizes in five categories. Alpha Omega: The play in which everything works; light, timing and costumes are throughout and the play itself manages to keep the audience entertained at all times. Here the judges are looking for the show that brings together all aspects to brings our audience a perfect show. Everything counts. Thigh Clapping Prize: The funniest show. The one that makes the audience cry of laughter and makes them cringe into thigh clappingingly happyness. The Genki Prize: The play that catches the essence of Genki – whatever that might be! What counts here is your personal interpretation of what Genki is. Best Prop: The show with the most beautiful and most well used props and coulisses. We are looking for detail, craftsmanship, and all around awesome. Audience Favorite: The audience chooses through voting procedures who deserves this prize. A peoples vote for their very favorite show!

The Genki craftsmanship contest will take place behind close doors so the judges have plenty of opportunity to judge the costumes. But everyone has plenty of opportunity to see the participate in Genkis craftsmanship competition, when they participate in Cosplay catwalk. In this contest it isn’t the best act that wins, but the best created craft. The three best costume creators will qualify for the Nordic Cosplay Championship 2014 (The NCC) and will be representing Denmark in the finals against other very challenging nordic countries.
