BELLES & BULLS OF THE BLUEGRASS
SATURDAY, APRIL 5, 2025 / 12:00 PM EDT
Bluegrass Stockyards Regional Marketplace / Lexington, KY 26th Annual Simmental/SimAngus Bull and Female Sale
We would like to invite you to join us at the 2025 Belles and Bulls of the Bluegrass Sale, our 26th annual spring sale. We are proud of our longevity and the fact that this is the longest continuously running Simmental bull sale east of the Mississippi. We are committed to making this a diverse production sale offering of cattle that are built to increase your profit margins.
This year we celebrate Wayward Hill Farm, Dr. Henry and Lou Ann Allen, winning the World Simmental-Fleckvieh Federation’s Golden Book Award, joining Swain Select Simmental as a recipient of this honor. The Golden Book Award is the most prestigious award given by the American Simmental Association, recognizing individuals who are lifelong promoters of the Simmental breed. Only 173 have ever been awarded, with fewer than 100 total awarded in the history of the Simmental breed in the USA, of which fewer remain active breeders. The fact that Swain Select Simmental, Dr. Fred and Phyllis Swain, also received the Golden Book in 2018 makes this sale unique with both of its consignors having won this award--these are recognized programs you can trust.
While we are at it, can we also celebrate the price of feeder cattle? We are continuing to see record prices to reward all of us for our hard work! This is not an easy business, and it’s nice to be rewarded financially for the hard work. This is not a flash in the pan; it’s a trend with longevity! The bulls in this offering are a set where you can find the calving ease, increased pounds at weaning and carcass merit to help you be at the top of the market! Heterosis is the cheapest tool we have, and these bulls will provide it to you. The females selling are highly maternal, and we believe they offer the traits needed as the nation rebuilds its cow herd. The genomics are complete on every lot in the sale, every animal selling is homozygous polled, most bulls qualify for Kentucky CAIP funding, and as we have said, they are all bred, born and developed in the fescue-based environment where many of them will run. They are hardy and will thrive anywhere. There is something here for everyone.
We hope you can come and appreciate this fantastic set of cattle in person and sit in the seats and bid on them—they are worth the trip from anywhere! As always, we will be broadcasting the sale live online on DVAuction.com and all videos will be available there. See page four for our guarantee and some additional information about what we believe sets us apart. Please reach out to any of our consignors or our consultants: Ryan Haefner, Dalton Lundy, Brent Tolle, Thomas Lundy, Lydell Meier, Todd Alford, or Chad Joines for assistance. We feel that we have assembled a top-notch marketing team and that you have a lot of options to evaluate these cattle.
We will be continuing to communicate and share info via our DV Auction site, our website, and via Facebook. Follow us at facebook.com/bellesbullsofthebluegrass for real time updates, sale order, etc. and www.bellesandbullsofthebluegrass.com. We hope to see you soon in Lexington. Please give anyone involved in the sale a call if you have questions or want to find a time to come see the cattle before their arrival in Lexington. Thank you and enjoy this fantastic set of cattle that combine phenotype with genotype and common sense on April 5th!

WAYWARD HILL FARM
We couldn’t think of a better place to start off the 2025 Belles and Bulls of the Bluegrass than with a set of bulls by the 2024 sale topping female, Delilah. You will see a huge influence in this sale out of her. On the sire side, you will find one of the most used sires in the breed in Double Up. This is a mating that has produced show heifers, donor cows, sale toppers and just flat-out good cattle. We have several sisters in production and are really liking what they are doing as young cows. L311 is one of four full siblings to sell in this year’s sale. Be sure to check out the full siblings in Lots 16, 17 and 126. Qualifies for CAIP.
We have been a fan of this one for a long time. I can only imagine the presence this bull is going to carry in the pasture as a mature bull. L306 is really long bodied and long fronted with some style. He comes in a bigger framed package and has always been on the front end on weigh in days. Recently, 1/2 interest sold on a full brother for $61,000 for our good friends at Trennepohl Farms. He was the result of an embryo purchase. He went on to be the Reserve Champion Bull at the 2025 Dixie National Show. Qualifies for CAIP.
Here are a pair of SAM bulls out of Delilah. This genetic combination should gather some attention. In the past several months, there has been a buzz around a SAM out of a Delilah daughter that Tim Schaeffer sold for a large sum of money. She is having a lot of success on the show road early in her career. Both bulls are red carriers and their EPDs read with some calving ease. Very interesting herd sire prospects that can add some name recognition to your calves. Qualifies for CAIP.
Please read this footnote. L457 will not pass a breeding soundness exam. He will breed cows. In the fall, he was treated for a swollen testicle. He now only has one testicle. We fully stand behind him as we do every bull. It is not a genetic problem. We made the decision to keep him in the sale because we feel he can add a lot of value to someone with a smaller herd. We love the performance and power he has. The epitome of a BEEF bull. His dam, 457H, is three for three on raising high performing calves. She is a full sib to the hot Select Sires bull, Point Proven. Buy with confidence.
L455 is a 3/4 sibling to Lot 104. He shows more signs of calving ease, being in the top 4% for CE and 5% for BW. His dam is a full sister to Greater Good, Entourage and 454H (new donor for us at WHF). He’s a stouter, more compact, smaller framed bull, backed by a beautiful uddered dam. Qualifies for CAIP.
Point Proven is solidifying himself as a go to heifer bull to add style and paperwork while not sacrificing a lot of growth with calving ease. All three of these bulls could add value in different ways. Lot 106 looks to be big time heifer acceptable. All three are really complete individuals backed by solid cow families. Two go back to the Andie donor and one to 344Dcows that have had a major impact at WHF. Qualifies for CAIP.
Beef bull alert on all three of these Entourage sons. These guys are full of red meat and ready to produce calves that will smash the scales. They have been high performance individuals themselves. These bulls could also make an awesome set of females to put back into the herd. Entourage genetics should make really good uddered females as well. Qualifies for CAIP.
If you like a little more white on your calf crop, then look no further. I do not care what color these two bulls are - they are flat good! They are powerhouse bulls that could stamp some baldies on a set of Angus cows. Great feet, legs and flexibility; they are built to last. We sold a full sister last year to Ashlyn Popp, and she was the Supreme Champion Kentucky Proud Heifer at the 2024 KY State Fair. Every time she is in the ring, she is commended on foot shape, foot size and sheer power. Qualifies for CAIP.
L307 is a bull that will add some frame and pounds. The Journeyman calves are really taking off across the country, and he is backed by our Haley donor that we own with the Hege and Dickerson families. She is making her mark. Be sure to check out his maternal sister, Lot 22. She will make you want replacements from these genetic lines. A full sister to Haley was recently in the top 5 of the Supreme Drive at the 2024 NAILE. Qualifies for CAIP.
Here’s a baldy bull that will add style and presence. L36 combines our top two cow families, Delilah and Summer. His dam, 36G, is a full sister to one of the hottest bulls - Double Up. She is always found in the pasture by visitors. This bull could make an awesome set of replacements or feeder calves to top the market. Qualifies for CAIP.

Lots 116 & 117: This is a footnote that could take multiple pages to write about the accolades and price tags that the maternal siblings to these two bulls have achieved. The run JS and WHF have had with Summer is one for the history books. Whether it has been with daughters in the show ring, bulls in the show ring, or bulls selling semen, it has been incredible. Woodford, Double Up and Ol Son are maternal brothers to these two and have made a mark so far, and it’s only getting stronger. Add Delilah into the mix on the sire side, and it gets stronger. We have two full sisters in the replacement pen that have us really excited. Special pedigree and special individuals in L301 and L302. Be sure to check them out on April 5th. Qualifies for CAIP.
SENTINEL C102J
A pair of fall Sentinel bulls that have a bright future. Sentinel was the herd sire we could put any cow with. He was a complete outcross to all of our cows. Unfortunately, he got injured during last spring breeding. We are starting to get daughters in production, and it’s going to be a good run with them. Body type is great, EPDs are solid and dispositions are excellent. We will continue to say he is our most underrated bull. The acceptance among breeders that have seen them is great. Qualifies for CAIP.
This is a nice Lover Boy son backed by a powerhouse Innovator cow with lines going back to Andie. He has a little extra white. We sold a maternal brother to Rachel and Kevin Barron a couple of years ago. Qualifies for CAIP.
L382 is a bull that will add frame and stretch to your calf crop. The ideal scenario for him is on a moderate set of black cows. Be sure to call us if you use this bull to make feeder calves. Qualifies for CAIP.
We have had a great run with our herd sires that we have run on cows the last few years. Innovator, 198H and Sentinel have played a key role in our herd. 198H was our calving ease specialist. Great feet, great structure and great udders describe his daughters. Great feet, great structure, great fertility and adequate growth to calving ease ratio describe the sons. These cattle continue to get better every day. Keeping replacements, selling feeders, or selling seedstock, these four will fit the bill. All four are out of first calf heifers. Lots 122, 123 & 124 qualify for CAIP.

We started the falls off with a Double Up x Delilah, why not start the springs that way? L311 and M401 are very similarly built bulls with just a little age gap. Again, this is a mating we are fond of as you can see from these two bulls and two pair, Lots 16 and 17. And, if you come to the farm, we would gladly show you more. The next generation is pretty special as well. There are eight direct sons of Delilah in the offering and many others carrying her influence. Find the one that fits you best, and the rest will be history. Qualifies for CAIP.
WHF/JS/CCS WOODFORD J001 SIRE OF LOTS 127 & 128
This has been a highly anticipated mating for us. Woodford x Delilah is going to go down as a special one. Woodford has been very hot since hitting the show world a few years ago. He is an outcross pedigree to the show world, yet maintains a very respectable EPD profile. Truly a combination sire. These are the kind of bulls we want to move our program forward with; strong EPD profiles while not sacrificing the importance of how phenotype plays in the longevity of an animal. Qualifies for CAIP.

M406 is another Woodford x Delilah that will find friends sale day. He shows just a little more growth on paper than his full brother. There are some differences, but they are a lot of the same type and kind. I really wish we had a sister to these bulls. We will be trying to make one to build around. Qualifies for CAIP.
Long bodied and long necked describe M408. This Journeyman bull has some interesting pieces. His flush mates are in the replacement pen. You might get to see one as a pair next year, or I might get greedy and keep them. He combines two breeding programs in his pedigree that were started by very successful veterinarians. Anyone want to take bets on who has palpated more cows - Dr. Aggen at OMF or Dr. Allen at WHF? Qualifies for CAIP.
We are big fans of the Woodford x Innovator cow combination. These two bulls have been fun to look at all summer on pasture and into the bull development phase. I specifically remember when my mom was checking cows one day, and she called and said, “What is this 4F bull?”. Both are stout made bulls with a presence. Both are backed by stout made big-footed cows. M4 is in the top 25% for API, and M25 is in the top 30% for API. A real solid pair of bulls to choose from.
Qualify for CAIP.
The top fancy open heifer from our 2021 sale was WHF Lila 045H, going to the Walther family of Indiana. Fast forward four years and that fancy heifer has as set of studs in the sale. Lila is looking like she is going to be a great producer. Bulls or females - she is getting it done. This trio of bulls (Lots 132, 133, 135) out of her are really impressive. Thick ended, big topped and masculine. They are built like bulls are supposed to be. We are really excited for the future of this cow family. These bulls will make great females, manly bulls or sale topping feeder cattle. Qualifies for CAIP.
W/C RELENTLESS 32C
The 2021 sale was a good one for donor cows. 368H was the second high selling open going to the Mundy family in Tennessee. Fortunately, we kept an interest in her as well. They do not get much better looking than M368. This is one impressive individual from end to end and from the ground to the top. Just come see him!

Point Proven is becoming a big name in the Simmental world. His acceptance across all aspects of the breed is exciting. M369 is a really solid bull with a lot of potential. His dam is a good uddered, black baldy cow. She is a full sister to the 368H donor.
Qualifies for CAIP.
CCS/WHF OL`SON 48F
M199 is a big bodied, sound structured, stylish black baldy. This bull carries himself well and has that look at me factor. Top 2% for CE, 1% for BW and 4% for MCE. Those are some numbers worth looking at if you want that calving ease black baldy. His dam was a first calf heifer that did a great job. We are big fans of this bull. Qualifies for CAIP.

Here are a trio of Entourage bulls from the spring yearlings. Look at these guys on sale day, and then go look at the set of older fall Entourage sons to get an idea of what the future can hold. These three are backed by good cows - study the pedigrees. Some interesting individuals. Lots 139 & 140 qualify for CAIP.
These two black baldy bulls are out of first calf heifers. We ran a Lover Boy son two years ago on heifers. He saw light use, but the results were good. These two bulls will work in a lot of places in the beef industry. They just need light use and time to develop.

purchased this bull’s dam from our good friends at Jared Werning Cattle. Coming to Kentucky fescue was a challenge for her, but she gave it her all and raised a monster. Had an injury not slowed him down, his WW would have been off the charts for a heifer. Really solid EPDs. Qualifies for CAIP.
A slightly older bull that is masculine and powerful in his look, extremely balanced in terms of EPDs and design and sitting on excellent feet! This is our highest index bull out of the dependable TJ Gold and one of our best producing cows. We used him this fall on a few of our heifers and believe he can be utilized on both heifers and cows and still deliver strong growth and muscle. Qualifies for CAIP.
This is a muscular, older bull that has a bit more stretch and frame. This is a big time payweight bull, our highest WW and YW EPD bull, that will make you tons of money in this market. He is a commercial cattleman’s dream. Every commercial person that has been through has gone right to him in the bull pasture. Qualifies for CAIP.
318L is a really well balanced, do it all kind of a bull. He excels in terms of foot quality, flexibility and structural soundness. He comes in a low birth weight package that grew well to weaning and yearling. This versatile bull will fit well in almost any herd.

This is a fancy bull with an abundance of top and hip, in addition to being out of the rare and valuable Copacetic sire! This is a long made, attractive, square hipped bull who will inject a dose of look, stretch and stoutness in his calves. He is balanced in his look and data and will make the kind of calves that will top the market in the sale ring! Video of dam available at swainselect.com. Qualifies for CAIP.
This is as close to a sure thing as you can get for calving ease and being heifer safe! This stout made bull, came easy and grew really well and is a model for low input costs and efficiency. He was one of our best growing bulls from birth to weaning and weaning to yearling, gaining it on fescue grass pasture. Buy with confidence and have a good night’s sleep during calving season and enjoy big stout calves at weaning time. Qualifies for CAIP.
This bull comes from a young cow who continues to prove herself as a herdsire maker year after year. He is stout, rugged and growth oriented, posting a 750-pound weaning weight and 1201 yearling. This is a soft made, easy fleshing, low maintenance bull who will produce calves with the kind of doability, growth and power to increase profit margins. Video of dam available at swainselect.com. We have been fortunate to raise some good ones over the years; we believe this is one of the best to date. He never has a bad day and looks good from every angle. He is the epitome of balance from the standpoint of his design, structure and genomics. His young dam raised a high seller last year, and her daughters are likely to stay until we get a quantity of them. She is, full stop, the best footed female we have ever been around and consistently passes this to her offspring. She is a daughter of the famous Havana, making this bull from the same blood lines as many top sellers across the country, including the $450K 3BCC KCC1 Krypton in the 2023 Hartman Bull Sale. We identified her as a future donor for us based on her functional design and perfect structure. C405M possesses all of these traits. This is 100% a high-end breeder bull for the most discriminating breeders. He is the right size with a big top and hind quarter. His strong balanced numbers speak for themselves, but when paired with his outstanding phenotype, he stands out as a top-tier herdsire prospect. Video of dam available at swainselect.com. We go back and forth on the best one of this bull calf crop. This one is always in the discussion. He was raised by one of the better, more efficient two-year-olds we have ever had around here. She raised him on fescue grass and bred back AI on first service. This bull is impeccable in his design, great fronted, big hipped and attractive. He is an elite calving ease prospect both based on actual BW and genomics, and he still weaned off at 851 and posted a 1116 yearling weight. If you have heifers to breed, this bull should be one you consider. He can do this in the most elite seedstock herds. Simply put, he is good enough to be an AI sire that sells a lot of semen to use on high end purebred heifers. Video of dam available at swainselect. com. Qualifies for CAIP.
If you want to create black baldies from solid black cows, this is the look you need to have to do it consistently. He is stout, big bodied, big hipped and really good looking. Structurally, he is loose made and flexible. His beautifully designed, 20-20 dam, with a near perfect udder, is one of our favorites. He is a really good one that will work in a number of scenarios. Video of dam available at swainselect.com.

C407M has a little more stretch, frame and growth - the kind that will add pounds and profit at weaning. His dam, Yetti 8F25, is doing a phenomenal job for us, already having produced Swain Sentinel C102J, who we own with WHF, and last years $20,000 top selling bull, Swain Phenom C303L, purchased by K-LER Cattle. The soundness, body, and muscle that this bull brings is a commercial person’s dream! Video of dam available at swainselect.com. Qualifies for CAIP.
BUILT TO TAKE YOU TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
It is only fitting that we start the open heifer division off with a pair of solid red Delilah daughters. The future is really bright for these two. We are committed to selling high quality opens out of our best, so here we are letting go of these two elite individuals. These will be the first red Delilahs to ever be sold. Maternal sisters have topped the Belles and Bulls of the Bluegrass multiple times in the female division and have gone on to be donors. Maternal brothers have gone on to be promotional sires. Our offering and pastures are stacked with daughters and granddaughters. Sired by the legendary SAM, these two females are even more intriguing. He has sired countless champions and high sellers.

SM | Homo Polled | Black
What an exciting pair of SAM daughters out of Andie. These two are coming on strong. Andie daughters are no strangers to the backdrop. She has been one of the most dominant show producers over the past several years. 365A can be found in the genetics of many champions. No matter the sire, she has produced well. This is a mating that has had some success. The Grieman family bought a full sister that went on to be a Top 20 heifer at the Junior National as a calf. She is currently twelve years old and due to calve any day. You will not find many as good footed and as sound as her at any age. These two look to have a big future.
We like to focus on a select few open heifers to sell. 416M was a no brainer to put in the sale. Delilah x Next Level has the makings to be great. This late September heifer is stout, powerful, and ready to go to town. This is one that is built to continuously get better with age. She could be pretty special next summer as a heavy bred.
This is a unique young red female who can do a lot of things. She is an outcross to most of the red gene pool with a highly interesting and useful EPD profile. I can easily envision her being the dam of the next generation, transformational red AI stud bull! This is even more reasonable when you look at the cow family behind her. We believe the Donna cow family, specifically Coleman Donna 386, is one of the most special in all of the beef business, regardless of breed. When you combine Donna 401M on the hoof with her genetics and genomics, the possibilities are endless. Sells open and ready to breed to the bull of your choice.
This is the natural calf of our Intuition 015X donor, raised by her as a 14-year-old! She looks so much like the great ones from her cow family at that same age. The CEZ Mindy females were known to be ultra deep bodied cows that milked well and were highly efficient. The is a modern-day version of this long-standing legacy with an interesting pedigree twist being out of the popular and high-quality Lover Boy. Sells open and ready to breed to the bull of your choice.
This is the first female we have let leave our place from our KCC1 Victoria 54F donor, and I have been reminded how unhappy someone is about her being in the sale a number of times. This is one of the best and most valuable bred heifers we have had the pleasure of selling in the Belles and Bulls of the Bluegrass sales, and yes that is quite a statement. Her maternal brother was a high selling lot last year purchased by Scottie Smith. She is a powerful cow prospect who does everything right for us: homo polled and homo black, check | backed by a predictable powerful cow family (Kearns Victoria and Dolly), check | strong number profile, check | top notch phenotype, CHECK! In addition to all of this, we continue to try to produce genotypic standouts that are outcross to the lines that have been over emphasized, and she is just that outcross. Her mating to TERS Kodiak will keep that going. Her pedigree is unique. Check out her video - she’s better than her picture. Better yet come see her in person! Retaining a flush, reach out for details, but we will be easy to work with.
Fergie C314L is the first female we have sold out of our black baldy Fergie 811F cow. We have been keeping all of them because they are unique breeding pieces that are stout structured and cross well on high indexing cattle producing balanced trait cattle with look and genomics. Because we have kept several daughters and granddaughters, we decided to get the Fergie cow family out now in this offering. They are backed by the H25 family, with Fergie 811F’s dam being a mate to the famous HOC Broker. Fergie C314L combines some of the breed’s greatest cow families on the top and bottom side of her pedigree alike. C314L is bred to the hot, high selling TERS Kodiak who is producing sale toppers one after another in his first calf cropthe exact kind of diverse crosses we like to make.

This is a power cow, out of a power cow! Students of the breed will remember the powerful Sheza Lady N902; she is the cow family behind 323L. This heifer is one of the highest WW and YW daughters of Lover Boy in the entire ASA database. These are payweight numbers - the ones that make you a lot of money in this market. This is a unique and high-quality bred female you won’t want to miss. Her calf by Point Proven will be one you want everyone to see! Video of dam available on swainselect.com.
This female is out of the past $30K Black Label Sale topper, HOC Bianca, who resides at Fenton Farms. She traces back to the Kearns Cattle Co. and Cow Camp Ranch donor, CCR Misty May, who produced multiple high sellers for both programs, including a lead off bull in the National Western Grand Champion Pen of bulls for Kearns. This heifer is good looking, rugged made, big footed and will produce stout powerful bulls as well as good looking attractive females and should really mate well with Point Proven.
The Swain Sentinel C102J bull will prove himself to have been underutilized based on the productivity of his daughters. They are balanced trait, slick haired production cattle that will be problem free drivers of dollars in your pocket! Study this one on paper, she is hard to fault, putting together a balanced profile that will work. She stems from the CEZS Black Mindy 101B cow family, via Intuition 015X, and mated to Point Provenyou can’t go wrong!
We absolutely love our Boulder females. They make some of the best cows you will ever see. This one is unique as she has a bit more frame and is more powerfully constructed than most. She is one of the highest WW and YW EPD daughters of CCR Boulder in the ASA database, both EPDs being in the top 15% of the breed overall. Her mother is a direct daughter of the Ford RJ Dolly cow who started it all for Kearns Cattle Company. Her TERS Kodiak calf will be a very unique purebred representing unlimited possibilities!
This feature lot is a high producing cow from a top end cow family. Maternally she comes from the great 5H11 cow line that is legendary in the Angus breed. Her first calf sold as a top selling bred to WHF last year, who in turn produced a bull calf that has genomics that indicate he is one of the top WW and YW sons of the great TJ Gold in the entire ASA database. 928G’s second calf sold privately to Johnny Evans as one of our top selling bulls last year. Her calf this year is at the top of the keeper list in the replacement pen. Sells bred to Ruby’s Quadrant which may be her most exciting mating yet - check out the planned mating EPDs!
Huge bodied, easy keeping, money making kind bred to calve right after the sale to Point Proven – a mating we hate to not be staying here! She is out of an Intuition 015X daughter, tracing to our oldest and most important cow family to date, CEZS Black Mindy 101B. Ask anyone who has Right Now daughters how much they like them; they are the real deal. She is very balanced on paper, an outcross pedigree, and reminds us a lot of our top selling bred heifer from last year that sold to WHF.
WHF DELILAH 456K “DOLLY” FULL SISTER TO LOTS 16 & 17
Lots 16 & 17: Bulls, opens, and cow calf pairs - we have all aspects covered with Delilah. She is one of the most elite donors in the breed as she excels in every aspect. These two females are destined for someone’s donor pen. At the time of photo, 459K is nursing a powerful bull calf. Often times we see breeders saying it hurts to let this cow go. This cow doesn’t hurt, it is the bull calf. I can only imagine his value next April!! We would be glad to take him back at weaning. 454L is due to calve close to sale time. Her udder is really shaping up nicely. Be sure to come find these two on sale day.
We pulled out all of the stops on selling elite pairs. This is another donor prospect, and we could be talking about the cow or the heifer calf at side. This heifer calf is very interesting out of the hot sire, Recharge. We made a point to breed a lot of Double Up daughters to him. We didn’t just sample him; we went all in on using him. The results have been really good.

Double Up x Innovator has made a really nice combination. 240L is big bodied, good structured and long fronted. She goes back to our Ariel donor on the dam side. Selling with a bull calf at side by WHF Point Taken K65, the exciting young herd sire at Trennepohl Farms.
A nice 3/4 blood cow with a Point Proven heifer calf at side. This stripe faced, Double Up daughter is doing a great job.

137L continues to impress us. Look at her build - she is good in her lines, sound in structure and has a really solid udder. Selling with a Woodford heifer calf at side makes this young pair pretty valuable. We have done the work on the pairs. Take them home, turn them out and watch your investment flourish. This elegant made, Point Proven female should have a calf by sale day. We are excited to see what our latest heifer bull can do. The data on this calf should be really good.

This is the lone 198H daughter in the sale. As we said, when talking about the 198H bulls, we love the females. Top 15% for CE and API. Top 3% for stay. According to her paper, she is built to last. More importantly, due to her feet, structure and build, she is built to last. Sells with a Point Proven heifer calf at side.
Opportunities like this do not come along very often. We are selling a full sib pregnancy to Delilah. The even better news is it is alive and healthy. We have done all the work and now it is time for you to reap the rewards. You will be getting a heifer calf and a registered cow. I am not sure why, but we had never made full sibs to Delilah. She was a one egg flush, and we never did it again, but last year we decided to give it a go. We plan to have this pair videoed and ready for your appraisal.
Referred to around the farm as Little Andie, 368H is just starting into her prime in the donor line up. We believe she is going to be a donor that adds a little more top shape, butt and real-world value to some of these show animals. The Mundy family is keeping a bull that is a full sib to this mating for a herd bull. The videos look pretty neat. Lot 134 is her natural calf - be sure to check him out to see what she can produce.
At 12 years old, Andie is still going strong. These Reckoning embryos are full sibs to two of Beshears Simmentals top selling females last year, selling to Cash Rumple and Buck Creek Ranch. As for the Woodfords, we haven’t had any yet, but the expectations are high for them. Andie makes them really good out of any bull. Be sure to check out Lots 3 and 4 that are her SAM daughters.
Selling the choice of an IVF cycle on WHF Delilah 456K (Dolly) or WHF Lila 045H - both are daughters of Delilah. They are previous high sellers in the Belles and Bulls of the Bluegrass.
Lila sold 1/2 interest for $23,000 going to the Walther family in Indiana. Unfortunately, an injury slowed her show career, but it hasn’t stopped her production. Check out her three sons in the offering - Lots 132,133, and 135. A daughter sold last year to the Oliver family, and they have her in mind to make a donor.
Dolly sold 1/2 interest for $25,000 to Beshears Simmental and went on to have a successful show career placing 18th overall in the bred and owned show at the 2023 Junior National and 8th overall in the bred and owned show at the 2024 Junior National. Her production record is slim being a first calf heifer, but her first calf by Woodford looks pretty elite at a young age.
Both donors will be ready to flush after the sale. Buyer is guaranteed a minimum of six transferrable embryos. Buyer will split embryos 1:1 after ten embryos with seller.

WHF Summer 004J (Jazzy) was successfully campaigned the last two years by AnnLawrence Allen. She started off her career as Reserve Fall Heifer Calf Champion at the 2022 NAILE and ended her career as Supreme Champion Cow-Calf Pair at the Kentucky State Fair. Also, she was Reserve Champion Owned Cow-Calf Pair at the 2024 Junior National. Her bull calf was the $36,000 1/2 interest pick of our bull calf crop this year selling to Hart Simmentals. Semen on him sells as Lot 206. We have big plans for this donor in our herd over the next several years. We have a few other matings on the ground and the future is bright. These eggs can be made right after the sale.
This is the first opportunity to buy semen on Changing Times. Hart Simmentals of South Dakota purchased possession and 1/2 interest for $36,000 in the 2024 NAILE Select Simmental Sale.

Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs): EPDs are the most accurate and effective tool available for comparing genetic levels. In using EPDs, the difference between two sires’ EPDs represents the unit difference expected in the performance of their progeny. For example, if sires A and B have EPDs of +10 and –5, a 15-unit difference would be expected in their progeny (moving from -5 to +10 yields 15 units). Key to using EPDs is knowing what units they are expressed in. For example, if the above case referred to weaning weight EPDs, A would be expected to sire 15-pounds more weaning weight than B. If calving ease were the trait, A would be expected to sire 15-percent more unassisted births in first-calf heifers; in other words, if B sired 30 assists in a group of 100 heifers, we’d expect A to require 15 assists. A percentile-ranking chart is required to determine where a bull’s EPDs rank him relative to other bulls in the breed. For percentile rankings or more detailed information about EPDs and $ indexes visit www.simmental.org. Listed below are the units ASA EPDs are expressed in:
All-Purpose Index (API): Dollars per cow exposed under an all-purposesire scenario. (See below for more details.)
Birth Weight (BW): Pounds of birth weight.
Calving Ease (CE): Percent of unassisted births when used on heifers.
Maternal Calving Ease (MCE): Percent of unassisted births in firstcalving daughters.
Milk (MLK): Pounds of weaning weight due to milk.
Marbling (MRB): Marbling score.
Maternal Weaning Weight (MWW): Pounds of weaning weight due to milk and growth.
Ribeye Area (REA): Square inches of ribeye.
Stayability (STAY): Percent of daughters remaining in the cowherd at 6 years of age.
Terminal Index (TI): Dollars per cow exposed under a terminal-sire scenario. (See below for more details.)
Weaning Weight (WW): Pounds of weaning weight.
Yearling Weight (YW): Pounds of yearling weight.
$ Indexes: Though EPDs allow for the comparison of genetic levels for many economically important traits, they only provide a piece of the economic puzzle. That’s where $ indexes come in. Through well conceived, rigorous mathematical computation, $ indexes blend EPDs and economics to estimate an animal’s overall impact on your bottom line. The same technology that led to the dramatic progress in swine, poultry and dairy genetics over the last several decades was used to develop the following $ indexes:
All-Purpose Index (API): Evaluates sires for use on the entire cow herd (bred to both Angus first-calf heifers and mature cows) with the portion of their daughters required to maintain herd size retained and the remaining heifers and steers put on feed and sold grade and yield.
Terminal Index (TI): Evaluates sire for use on mature Angus cows with all offspring put on feed and sold grade and yield.
Using API and TI: First, determine which index to use; if you’re keeping replacements use API, if not, TI. Then, just as with EPDs, zero in on the unit difference between bulls. (As described above, index units are in dollars per cow exposed.) The difference can be used to determine how much a bull is worth compared to another. Or, put another way, how much you can pay for one bull compared to another. For example, when buying an all-purpose-type sire, you can quickly figure a bull scoring +100 for API is worth an extra $6,000 over a +50 bull if both are exposed to 30 cows over 4 years ($50 diff. x 30 hd. x 4 yr. = $6,000). A percentileranking chart is required to determine where a bull’s index value ranks him relative to other bulls in the breed. For percentile rankings or more detailed information about EPDs and $ indexes visit www.simmental.org.
