OUR PHILOSOPHY
Inspire. Prepare. Connect. Inspire students to fall in love with learning and discover their purpose. Prepare them to think for themselves and care about others. Connect students with the world through their academic subjects.
The traditional approach to education, with heavy emphasis on standardized tests and siloed subjects, is failing to prepare students to a changing world. Equipping students to thrive in today’s complex world requires an innovative approach to education—one that hones relevant skills, incorporates technology, and embraces the inspiration and practicality of real-world learning.
GCE Lab School’s industry-leading model places students at the center of a collaborative learning environment that combines essential instruction in STEM and Humanities with experiential learning and individualized coaching.
Grades 9–12

Content x Context
We offer a broader context for every subject so students grasp relevance and practical value of learning.

Language and Electives Through all four years, students study Global Language and electives.
Welcome Dear Families, It is an honor to introduce you to Global Citizenship Experience Lab School. We provide an education that truly breaks down walls between school and the world. Our inquiry and project-based curriculum takes students out of the classroom and into the real-world. GCE Lab School students are at the center of this collaborative learning environment. Throughout their high school career, GCE students participate in more than 200 field experiences, guest workshops, and case studies. Our City2Classroom model serves as a natural extension of coursework and provides networking opportunities far exceeding those offered by traditional schools. We’ve seen outstanding success among students, where 100% of graduates have gained admission to top tier universities across the country. So much more impressive is that 80% of these students have earned merit-based scholarships. I am most proud to share that the first 39 GCE graduates alone earned more than $3.6M in merit aid and 3 graduates awarded the coveted POSSE scholarship. GCE Lab School is an exceptional independent private high school where 50% of the students receive scholarship funding, resulting in a student body that’s truly reflective of the richly diverse city in which we live. We’ve recently moved into our new, ground-breaking facility in Lincoln Park- it’s filled with student projects, conversations, art, experiments, and creativity. GCE goes beyond its acronym by being a personal experience for students, families and teachers. Students love our hands-on classes that integrate science, technology, engineering, arts and math. GCE’s students are engaged and interacting every day and in every class with peers, teachers and the city. Action projects and digital portfolios from every student speak to their passions and connected learning. Families love that they are a part of a small community of educators passionate about teaching people and not administering tests. Please check out our website, come visit our new facility, and reach out with questions- we would love to introduce you to GCE Lab School and what sets us apart. Inspire, Prepare, Connect.
