LYNDA GROVE I MET MY HUSBAND DURING A DIFFICULT TIME. My mother had just passed away, and I had to be back at school two weeks later, and that’s when I met him. My faith was new at the time, but as I watched Kevin’s life, I learned the power of Christ in everyday situations and the strength available through our relationship with Him. WE LOVED GATEWAY BEFORE IT EXISTED! Years ago, my husband and I were transitioning out of our church, and we had subconsciously created a list of things we desired in our new church. One evening we got together with some old friends, Pastor Robert and Debbie, and asked what was going on in their lives. Pastor Robert began to express his plans to start Gateway, and as he shared his vision, both Kevin and I felt as if he was reading our list, checking off each item. We instantly knew we had found our church home. I’M ALWAYS PAINTING SOMETHING: furniture, my front door, my living room, anything. I love change, and I love when things are pretty. Painting a room changes it instantly—makes it feel clean and updated. Sometimes I’ll fall in love with an accent piece or trinket, and it’ll give me a vision for a whole room, which I’ll obviously have to repaint to create. I LOVE GARDENING. But everything I plant always dies. My dad used to have the most beautiful garden, and he taught me a lot, but for some reason I haven’t had the same success. My favorite thing to grow is mint. I love the smell and taste of it. I’ll often create different tea or juice recipes to put the mint leaves in, and they always taste so yummy.
