Dear Members,

I hope you had a beautiful holiday season and wish you a healthy and happy 2023.

Last January, I spoke of exciting renovations that were planned for Garden of the Gods Resort and Club. Some have come to fruition and others are in the midst of being completed, such as the new arrival experience and parking areas at the main lodge, the enhancement of the Hill Room with a patio cover, and renovations to our lodge guest rooms.

On January 9th, the start of the renovation to the Grand View Dining Room will begin. This is scheduled to be completed by April 19th. All other dining rooms will be open and please review details of all dining room times and dates within the Food and Beverage portion of this Newsletter. In addition, our food and beverage team will be continuing with almost nightly specials in the Grille so please come out to enjoy.

In the spirit of us continuing to elevate live music around the club, even in the winter months, this month we welcome Deryk Cunningham as our resident musician entertainment on Friday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Rocks Lounge. He will join Laura Rupejko in our line up with performances on Wednesdays at the Kissing Camels Grille and Bar and on Saturdays at the Rocks Lounge.

With cold and flu season affecting many of us, Strata Med is offering an Immune Boost IV Therapy that is packed with vitamins, minerals and nutrients to recharge your body and get you back to full strength. GRAND VIEW DINING ROOM RENOVATION

As of Monday, January 9, 2023, the Grand View Dining Room will be closed for the highly anticipated renovations. We expect that renovations will continue throughout these remaining winter months and into early spring. The grand reopening date will be announced once finalized. Until then, we look forward to seeing you and your family and friends in the Rocks Lounge & Dining Room and Kissing Camels Grille & Bar.

IT’S HERE - STRATA FIT’S AND STRATA MED’S FUEL & FITNESS TEAM CHALLENGE JANUARY 9 – FEBRUARY 5

Strata brings its diverse coaching talents together to offer you a 4-week challenge designed to truly raise your wellness to new heights.

Claire Mademann, R.D. will join personal trainers Carissa, Ty, Ashley, Debra, Rodney, Ellen and Jane to create nutritional and high-energy fitness challenges to kickstart 2023. Our team-supported event will broaden your fitness and fueling practices.

You will receive: - Four 30-minute nutritional group coaching sessions with Claire Mademann, RD - Eight 30-minute team fitness training sessions with 7 different trainers.

Each team will consist of four team members. If you are interested but don’t have teammates –don’t worry, we’ll partner you with three others.

Proper Golf Attire: Please make sure you are dressed appropriately when using the golf course and practice range. When in doubt please ask a member of the Professional Staff for assistance.

Winter Golf Information:

The Winter Course will be the primary course of play until mid-April. The winter course consists of the following holes: South 1-9, North 1-3, 8 & 9, West 1, 7-9. Hole locations will rotate as weather and temperatures permit.

• Please call ahead for frost & weather delays (719-636-2520)

• Frost/weather delays or closures will be emailed via Jonas to all members with tee times on the day of play

• It is recommended there be a maximum of 2 carts per group during the winter course months

• The range tee will be limited to the mat area on the south end of the practice tee for the remainder of the winter season

If you are traveling to your winter residences and are NOT in an inactive posting season, please remember to post all your scores immediately after playing. As you know, golf is a game of equity, and it is your responsibility to post your scores.

- $105 per member attending 1 day per week for the entire 3-week session.

- Deadline to register will be the Saturday at 1:00 p.m. prior to the week of camp.

- Drop-in registration may occur 24 hours prior to the day of camp at $35 per member. Signups after the deadline will be based upon availability only.

-*Registration is for the 3-week of camp and there must be at least 3 children signed up in a class to host*

Every Wednesday, 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. This is a weekly round-robin for those pickleball players who are looking to get more time on the court in a semi-competitive style of play. Open to all players who can serve, keep score, rally, and have experience in match play. Registration is on the member portal.

Join us for a tennis event representing the NFL divisional playoff games held this Saturday. We will have a fun team tennis format for all participants. Following our event join us in continuation for an NFL Playoff watch party with food and drinks.

Friday, January 27th 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Calling all new members!! We will be hosting a fun tennis/pickleball social for all new members to the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club. Join us for a fun evening with music, games, prizes, and socializing with many of your new club members. This is a great way to learn more about the Racquet Program in a fun environment.

“SPEC”-tacular Tennis Event

Saturday, February 4th 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Join us for a complimentary event learning one of the newest, fastest racquet sports in the country. Pickleball and Tennis players alike will truly enjoy this new game in which the GOG will be implementing into their Racquet program.

After the book exchange, we will indulge in a couple of new Kids’ Club books and enjoy some hot cocoa and the gift of literature and friendship!
