There is a charge if you are not playing or are not on the annual range plan. We ask that you refrain from hitting shots over 260 yards while using the practice range. Please make sure you and your guests are dressed appropriately (please refer to our dress code reminder) when using the golf course and practice range. When in doubt please ask a member of the Professional Staff for assistance.

We will continue to have earlier tee times on the tee sheet beginning at 7:30am on Friday’s, Saturday’s, and Sunday’s, beginning, Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 23rd – Labor Day, Monday, September 1st. These tee times will be in 7- and 8-minute intervals for one hour. On days when events are scheduled these earlier tee times will not be available. Designed primarily for players with novice to intermediate experience, each camp will cover the fundamentals of the golf swing, chipping, and putting, along with basic rules and on-course simulated play. If you have any questions or would like to sign up your junior, please don't hesitate to contact the Golf Shop or reach out to Jack Evans at jevans@gardenofthegodsresort.com directly.

IN OUR COURT

TIP OF THE MONTH: DROP 2 DROP

This month is all about the drop getting your opponent’s off balanced. By driving the return deep and establishing the position at the kitchen line you’ve forced your opponents into trying to play a drop on the 3rd shot of the point. When dealing with a drop try to drop it back as soft and short as possible to not allow your opponent’s back into the point. Soften your hands on the grip and focus on keeping a short back swing and a short finish after contact to ensure you’ve put the ball over the net but landed it inside the kitchen. This pattern of play I like to call is drop to drop. Try this in your next game on the courts and set yourself up for finishing the point.

WOMEN'S HEALTH MONTH

At Strata Med, we believe that women deserve healthcare that goes deeper—beyond checklists and quick fixes. That’s why two of our top female doctors, Dr. Jennifer Habashy and Dr. Sheila Bee, teamed up to create this practical, empowering guide to women’s wellness. Get a few tips below, and read the full Guide to Women’s Health:

10 WAYS WOMEN CAN PRIORITIZE THEIR HEALTH AND WELLBEING BY DR.

1. Come back to the basics. Before chasing the latest wellness trend, make sure the foundations are in place: sleep, whole food nutrition, movement, stress regulation, and meaningful connection.

2. Listen to your body, not social media. Every woman is different. What works for someone else might not work for you.

3. Focus on nourishment, not restriction. Instead of cutting things out constantly, ask what your body needs more of. Nutrient density matters more than diet labels.

4. Support your gut. A healthy gut is foundational to hormone balance, immunity, mood, and metabolism. Prioritize fiber, fermented foods, and hydration.

5. Test, don’t guess. Instead of guessing what supplement to try next or which food to eliminate, work with a provider to run labs that look at hormones, nutrients, inflammation, and gut health.

Read the Full Guide to Women’s Health to get Dr. Habashy’s other five tips!

WHAT IS “SELF-CARE”?

DR. SHEILA BEE, LIFESTYLE MEDICINE DOCTOR AT STRATA MED

1. Commit to consistency without rigidity. Sometimes we make things harder than they need to be. Try consistency with 5 daily basics (see in the full guide).

2. Say Yes! to saying No! An essential part of self-care is setting limits.Make sure you are at the top of your priority list so that you can bring your best to the rest.

3. Re-consider how you reward yourself. Have you ever felt sick and exhausted after a night out or weekend away that was supposed to be relaxing and fun? When planning your next celebration, think about what you really want.

While it's deeply personal and unique to every woman, read more in the full Guide to Women’s Health for helpful ways to define and shape your own self-care plan.

THE RISE OF CONCIERGE MEDICINE

There has been a lot in the media about concierge medicine and what it means for patients – women and men, alike! Dr. Barber, Medical Director at Strata Med explains how concierge medicine offers an alternative to traditional, rushed healthcare: a more personalized, accessible, and proactive approach to care that puts the patient-physician relationship back at the center of healthcare.

Read Dr. Barber's Blog.

ARE NUTS HEALTHY?

POOL SAFETY

We take your family’s safety very seriously, and therefore strictly enforce swim ability assessments. The first time your children or grandchildren visit the Rec Center Pool each year, a swim ability assessment is performed and a color-coded wristband will be assigned.

Red Band (12 years of age and younger):

Those that opt out of the assessment process or are unable to swim independently during the testing will be assigned a red wristband. These children must stay within arms’ reach of their guardian (18 or older) at all times while in the pool, and will not be allowed access to the diving board.

Green Band: Those children who successfully complete the assessment each year will be provided a green wristband. These children can swim freely and enjoy access to the diving board.
