Dear Members, For many of our members, August brings the flurry of back-to-school excitement and the prospect of settling into a new home routine following months of vacations and all-day activities. Garden of the Gods Resort and Club is however keeping summer going with lots of events and activities. Our Music Under the Stars summer events continue Saturday, August 27th with Colorado favorite Martini Shot. The band is comprised of current and former local music teachers and is a six-piece, horn-powered, Pop-Rock cover band. The name Martini Shot refers to the Hollywood slang term for the last film shoot of the day. This is one night you won’t want to miss, and we have food stations and bars opening at 5:30 p.m. We’re continuing with our monthly pop-up celebrations on Tuesday, August 2nd beginning at 4:00 p.m. for National Ice Cream Sandwich Day. As normal this will be in the main Lodge Lobby. There’s nothing that says summer more than a complimentary ice cream sandwich. An Enchanted Weekend to benefit Colorado Goodwill is scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 18th with the opening of the Chic Boutique located at the Three Graces event space. Keeping in the spirit of Goodwill, upscale slightly used and new clothing as well as household items will be offered. The Boutique will be open to members Friday and Saturday from 12 noon until 4:00 p.m. There will be many other Goodwill Events that weekend, but the Chic Boutique is the event where every member can support this worthy cause. Garden of the Gods Resort and Club is a proud sponsor of this annual fundraiser which does so much to help in need local citizens. Of course, we’ll also see the return of our famous final legacy golf event with the Sheiks and Shebas and our Club Championship events. In addition, we’re so proud of our activity leaders throughout the club who continue to be creative in bringing you new and exciting options with more racquetball clinics and events, unique Strata fitness offerings, eleven different Chef Features in the Kissing Camels Grille, and two exciting new Kids Club events for your Pirates and Princesses and your budding Doctors. Look for more details on all these events later in this publication. Also, please support our continued Sunday Brunch events on August 7th and 21st in the Grand View Dining Room.
