Why investing in a class 7 MOT bay could mean extra profits An examination of the MOT market, highlights many reasons to spend a little more on your MOT bay and enjoy the higher profits of class 7 testing. JUST one in four premises can test class 7 vehicles, according to recent DVSA figures. What’s more, 47 per cent of class 7 vehicles initially fail the test, compared to just 37 per cent for class 4 vehicles. At year three, the average mileage for a van is 70,000 miles compared to 32,000 for a car.

...no shortage of customers and no need to discount. It’s these figures and a generally better margin that’s prompting industry experts to suggest that testing class 7 is an attractive option. With only 20 per cent of MOT stations offering class 7 tests and record vehicle sales in this category, there’s no shortage of customers and no need to discount.
