What you need to know HM Revenue and Customs has changed the way businesses submit VAT returns on 1st April 2019. Businesses with a turnover above the VAT threshold, which is currently ÂŁ85,000, are required to keep their records digitally, and provide their VAT return information to HMRC through Making Tax Digital functional compatible software.
