78 House 2024-25 The edition

Presidential Address
Greetings Brothers,
Safety, guidance, and prosperity to all who receive this edition of our newly reinstated newsletter, and Happy New Year to all. My name is Godspower Onyeukwu (SP 23 Deuce of Three), and I have the honor of serving as the current president of our mighty house. It is a privilege to lead a chapter that we all hold so dearly in our hearts.
For some context about me, I am a junior studying Business Management with a minor in Information Management Systems. I was born and raised in Washington, D.C., and am ethnically Nigerian. Since joining our chapter, I have had the opportunity to witness and contribute to its significant accomplishments, including impactful programming, community service, and campus engagement.

Godspower U. Onyeukwu Chapter President
One of the key mechanisms for achieving this is the reinstatement of this newsletter, which serves as a communication mechanism between the chapter and its alumni. I encourage all brothers to stay active in our “GroupMe” and email threads for updates. Your continued involvement and feedback are invaluable as we strive to strengthen our alumni relations and foster a sense of unity.
Previously, I served as the chapter treasurer, where I gained valuable insight into the inner workings of our chapter and fraternity. This experience has helped me identify three key priorities to lay heavy preference on during my presidency: Financial Stability, Alumni Engagement, and Innovative Programming. These pillars will guide our efforts as we continue to strengthen and grow our chapter.
Financial Stability: Financial stability is a top priority for our chapter. As a former treasurer and a business major, I have a deep understanding of financial management, whether for our chapter operations or in my academic studies. This past fall semester, the chapter successfully raised $2,500 to support our new chapter house, programming, and chapter insurance and taxes. While this is a significant achievement, my goal for the upcoming semester is to double that amount. I am actively collaborating with our fundraising chair to brainstorm and implement new revenuegenerating strategies to meet this ambitious goal. Together with the brothers, we will work diligently to secure our financial future.
Alumni Relations: Effective communication promotes alumni engagement! My goal is to ensure that alumni brothers are consistently informed about chapter operations and initiatives.
Innovative Programming: The landscape of Penn State and its student body has evolved significantly over the years, and with it, so have the needs and expectations of our community. Recognizing this shift, we have been actively reimagining our programming to ensure it remains interactive, meaningful, and impactful. This past fall semester, we focused on delivering high-quality programs that resonated with our community. The results speak for themselves our Alpha Week was a tremendous success, attracting hundreds of participants and leaving a lasting impact. Moving forward, our programming chair and I are dedicated to continuously refining our events to make them more engaging, cost-efficient, and impactful. We are committed to ensuring that our programs continue to meet the needs of today’s students while honoring the legacy of excellence that defines Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Enjoy the newsletter!
Fraternally,

Fundraising
As we enter the 2025-2026 academic year, it is essential for The Chapter to continue raising funds to ensure future success. With major programs, membership intake, and unexpected expenses on the horizon, this year is dedicated to independently securing financial support for these endeavors.
We are proud to announce that the chapter has already raised over
$3000
to support our programs and maintain the chapter house. This achievement was made possible through hosting successful parties and partnering with local restaurants in the State College area.
As the semester progresses, we remain committed to building on this momentum and further strengthening our financial foundation.
