RACE VERDICT

This looks like a weak race, and it presents a couple of puzzling angles. Despite the fact that Brain Cooper rides Poets Cottage, it may pay to take a chance with his father’s runner IMPERO who boasts some fair Flat form. He had to settle for fourth behind Common Practice over 1m4f at the Curragh in June, but that rival has failed to live up to expectations on his first two starts over hurdles.
