uilding upon Galveston’s history of innovation and entrepreneurship, the Galveston Center for Technology and Workforce Development at the UTMB Customs House is a launching pad for technology based start-up companies. UTMB has partnered with the GEDP in the redevelopment of the Customs House Incubator. This collaborative is designed to leverage resources, enhance the local and regional economies, create new jobs and ultimately drive the emerging technology ecosystem for Galveston and Galveston County.

Pictured above is the pilot wet-lab that is currently being renovated on the 3rd floor of the Customs House. These renovations are being completed with the assistance of an EDA grant and scheduled for completion in Q4 of 2021.

MBI is a subsidiary of UTMB established to commercialize cutting edge health care innovations developed by world renowned scientists, clinicians, and engineers.
The office of Technology Transfer manages UTMB intellectual property assets while promoting and encouraging scientific research.
