GALVESTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
Galveston ISD enrolls 6,708 students across 13 campuses and accepts students from the cities of Galveston and Jamaica Beach. Galveston ISD also serves unincorporated areas of Galveston County, including the communities of Port Bolivar and Crystal Beach on the Bolivar Peninsula. The school district is fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency.
GISD currently has two high school programs, five middle school programs, six elementary schools, two Schools of Choice and 4 Private Schools. There are 1,251 GISD employees.
Ball High School offers opportunities for graduates to be work force, military and college ready. In collaboration with Galveston College, dual credit courses are available for additional college hours. GISD is a tech hub for emerging opportunities as well.
Galveston Ball High School recently acquired a synthetic cadaver as part of the biomedicine program. This is one of four such medical training cadavers in Texas schools.

GALVESTON COLLEGE
Galveston College (GC) is a fully accredited community college, accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the Associate and Bachelor degrees.
The inaugural Bachelor of Applied Technology class recently graduated 13 students during the COVID pandemic.
Providing academic, workforce education, continuing education, and developmental programs, GC offers innovative teaching methods, taking full advantage of current technologies.
Enrollment per semester in credited programs is approximately 2,400 students of diverse population. Additionally, 1,450 individuals take advantage of the Continuing Education programs. Galveston College collaborates with local businesses and organizations and with Ball High School for dual credit classes.
Programs have consistently gained local, state, and national acclaim in areas that include health occupations programs, workforce development initiatives, NJCAA athletics, innovative fundraising, culinary arts, and special student services.
Citizens recognize and support Galveston College as a staple of the island. The college is fiscally sound and strongly supported.

TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY AT GALVESTON
Located on Pelican Island at the
Port of Galveston and close to the ship channel, Texas A&M University at Galveston (TAMUG) is uniquely situated for its marine and maritime academic programs. As an ocean-oriented branch campus of Texas A&M University System the campus is accredited to award baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees.
Known affectionately as 'Sea Aggies' , opportunities for marine studies are vast. The Maritime Academy is one of only six in the US and the only academy integrated into a Tier1 academic institution which trains over 300 cadets annually for maritime service and employment around the world. Programs are offered in Biology, Fisheries, Sciences, Business Administration, Ocean Engineering among others.

included $389 million in an appropriations bill for a
new ship
with state-of-the-art training and disasterresponse capabilities. The ship yet-to-be-built, known as a
National Security Multi-Mission Vessel, would be able to train up to 600 cadets at sea and serve double duty as the only hurricane relief vessel in the Gulf of Mexico.

For more than 125 years, UTMB has been educating generations of health care professionals, making world-changing discoveries through ground-breaking research and providing compassionate, state-of-the-art lifesaving health care to a rapidly growing patient population.

In addition to the healthcare education, UTMB has the only Level1 Trauma center south of Houston. UTMB is also home to one of only 2 national labs for biodefense. The Galveston Center for Technology and Workforce Development at the UTMB Customs House is positioned to grow technology based start-up-companies.
