They say when you experience something out of this world…. You are very, very, very lucky to recall past events. At 7:40 AM, on January 3, 2020 while taking pictures of the surrounding area, my son and I were parked along IR 12, Wheatfield’s Lake Campground Entrance across from the boat launch. I heard noises coming from the bottom of the Dam, like something was choking, followed by strong echoes of grunting and growling. I thought to myself it was probably a bear, or some other animal, so I didn’t pay much attention to it. I continued to take pics because the scenery was a “Winter Wonder Land”. From the snow-covered pine trees to the iced covered lake, it was “Breathtaking”. I was watching for traffic as my son made his way down to the lake. That is when I heard a “Whoop”!! I just stood there frozen in silence! Once my son got back, he asked, “What’s wrong?” Then another “Whoop!!” resonated yet again. Without any hesitation, or recording of any evidence, we got the heck outta’ there. As the sun started rising, and we were near Navajo, NM I tried to recall the events that had just taken place, asking myself “What the heck was that?”, “What was that noise?” So, I turned to my son and asked him, You heard that, right?” He Jason Arsenault, CPAwith a shocked look on his face. just nodded “Yes” sitting there
