Isle of Man artists selected to contribute to the collection of artworks on the new Manxman The isle of man steam packet company, in collaboration with smc art consultancy, has commissioned an exciting series of artworks for its new state-of-the-art vessel, manxman.

s work continues to ready Manxman for service next year, around the Island, 15 selected artists are drawing, painting, and sculpting bespoke pieces, which will celebrate the Isle of Manâs vibrant creative output, heritage, landscape, and community, and tell the story of our Island to all who travel on the vessel. Managing Director of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, Brian Thomson, said: âThe Steam Packet Company are committed to supporting the creative arts on the Island and look forward to showcasing the artistic talent of the Isle of Man where it can be viewed by travellers from near and far.â
Ellie Bakerâs dreamy, semi-abstract landscapes are sure to soothe the soul as you ride the waves.
âAlthough we initially planned to select 10 local artists to contribute to the collection, the quality of the proposals submitted was so high weâve extended this to 15 artists, who weâre delighted to introduce.â Working in a variety of media types, and taking inspiration from all aspects of the Islandâs heritage, culture, and natural beauty, the 15 Isle of Man artists selected to contribute to the collection of artwork on Manxman are:
Originally a Scientific Illustrator, Sally Black expresses her love for the natural world through her oil paintings.
Amy Bourbon has always been inspired by the sea, and for this project, will bring to life the heritage of the Islandâs landmarks through the medium of oil paint.
Easily recognised for his striking, graphic style, iIllustrator, Adam Berry, will be using digital media for his piece on Manxman.
