On the recovery of an important album of a total of 61 drawings by Giovan Battista Foggini, First Sculptor and Architect to the court of Cosimo III, Grand Duke of Tuscany.
Rediscovered in Florence in the collection of the descendants of the noble Pandolfini family, from which the album takes its name, this set of drawings can be compared in importance to those currently held by the Department of Prints and Drawings at the Uffizi and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This important discovery, unveiled at the same time of the Salon du Dessin in Paris, is the subject of a book published by the gallery and written by the leading expert on the sculptor and architect Kira d’Alburquerque.
