It is through the clay, the fusion of bronze and the handling of plaster that chanelled I melt into the elements of earth and water, the origins out of which creation begins and organic forms find root. through the river, the cycle of the moon and the effects it has on the tides, the eons of stars in the expanse of the sky lead me on a search to bring the outside world into the internal dimension of man. Nature becomes a metaphor, the macrocosm, of man’s microcosmic interior world, to be merged together as a way to apprehend man’s passage on the ‘Sphere’ that he inhabits. The outside is integrated, the inside is extracted, the two are assimilated, pulled together, unified and the sculptures are the membrane between the two. M.Z.
