Hello Teachers!

WonderQuest, northeast Georgia’s acclaimed theatre for young audiences, is excited to announce our fall 2020 production, James and the Giant Peach! Forced to move in with his wicked aunts, James Henry Trotter is “the saddest and loneliest boy you could find.” See what happens when James accidentally spills the enchanted gift from a mysterious stranger at the foot of a tired peach tree! Your no-risk reservations include: •

A risk-free field trip, with the option to add or drop seats, or cancel without penalty (no money due until Sept 1)

Access to the James and the Giant Peach study guide, including activities aligned with Georgia Performance Standards in language, arts, social studies, science, & math

First choice of performance dates and seats at our $6 ticket price (teachers are always free, chaperones are $10)

Free performance previews for the first 20 reservations—our costumed Outreach Artist will come to your classroom to talk to your students about the story

Join WonderQuest for this odd and magical journey with James and his unusual friends, live in Brenau University’s historic Pearce Auditorium, where literature comes to life!

What is WonderQuest? We are dedicated to lighting the fire of the mind! WonderQuest is the young audiences division of nationallyacclaimed Gainesville Theatre Alliance (GTA), a 41-year-old collaboration of University of North Georgia and Brenau University, and is the only North Georgia organization dedicated to professional theatre for children and families. Unlike TV, movies, or computer games, theatre is alive. WonderQuest combines live performance and literature, igniting our audiences with colorful, meaningful plays and professional productions. WonderQuest sparks critical thinking and imagination within students, inside and outside the classroom, and it is our mission to kindle that fire.

Teachers Love WonderQuest!

“Thanks for once again transporting us to a faraway land for a most enjoyable experience. May your magic endure for many more seasons.” —3rd Grade Teacher “Thank you for continuing to provide our community with quality live performances geared toward younger audiences. It’s so important for our students to have a true theater experience.” —Middle School Teacher “It is all our kids could talk about when we got back on the bus—which is exactly what the purpose was!” —Special Ed Teacher

WonderQuest Provides:

FREE STUDY GUIDES— These full-color study guides make it easy for teachers to engage students with the story and characters, while addressing Georgia Performance Standards for core subjects. Study guides include discussion topics, writing suggestions, social studies pages, and science and math activities. PERFORMANCE PREVIEWS— The first 20 teachers to make reservations are eligible for a free performance preview. A costumed member of the WonderQuest theatre company will come to your classroom to talk about the literature behind the play, the author, and some of the theatre secrets that make it come to life on stage. Homeschool families can reserve a performance preview on GTA’s Ed Cabell stage. RISK-FREE RESERVATIONS— We understand the difficulties involved in field trip planning. For that reason, we offer risk-free reservations to our school matinees. Reserve seats for your class today and pay nothing until Sept 1.
