Our group puts families in touch with each other and offers the chance to make friends, swap news, share information, and benefit from mutual support.

We meet on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesdays of the month at Bethel Chapel, Bethel Lane in Upper Hale, Farnham between 10.00-11.30am. Derek Paravicini – A Charity Evening with the Musical Genius, at Haslemere Hall, Friday 4th March at 8.00pm

Derek Paravicini, the world famous musical savant, will perform his unique style of jazz, blues, classical and sensational improvisations based on audience requests in support of Barrow Hills School’s nominated charity St Benoît School in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Over the last few years Barrow Hills has raised over £15,000 to enable St Benoît School to build a new school building and create a garden. They have also funded the installation of toilets, a kitchen and a perimeter fence. This year funds are being raised for a number of projects including library books, additional computers, rewiring of the school, furniture and ceiling fans.

After a sell out concert at the school last year, Derek Paravicini has agreed to perform again in aid of this worthy cause. Although blind and severely learningimpaired, Derek has a unique musical mind that both moves and astonishes all those who hear him play. Derek can play many pieces of music after hearing them just once – in any key – and in a wide range of styles. Alongside Derek’s famous spur-of-the-moment improvisations, based on audience requests, this concert will include works by many famous composers by an extraordinary pianist, who can neither see nor read music. Audiences rarely catch him out!

The Look Out Discovery Centre is a fantastic place to discover, experience and enjoy hands-on science and nature. The Look Out houses one of the

UK’s most popular Hands-on Science and Nature Exhibitions. There are over 90 hands-on exhibits which are educational, fun and suitable for all the family, including plenty to do for toddlers. Different ages gain different experiences from their visit. Plus, there is a great adventure play area, coffee shop and gift shop. The centre is set in 1,000 hectares of woodland and there is free car parking. Open daily 10am – 5pm.

In addition to the hands-on science and nature exhibition where there is lots to do for toddlers, we are also putting on special activities. Activities include art and craft, play dough, face or hand painting and story telling. On toddler days buy one drink and get another free to the same value. Family Grapevine calendar! 15 years in Surrey - still successful and still holding true to the original ethos. concentrating on 0-18 years. A proportion of the entries give contact numbers for help and support in specialist areas, which can be difficult and time consuming to source for the average busy family. The line entries - and indeed the adverts - are sufficiently varied to encompass the wide needs of a modern family. For Nikki, Debbie and myself this is our full time work, not a hobby as some may suppose. It wraps around other things that take up our day to day lives, although sometimes it does seem as if there is no life outside Grapevine! We share the same values and not least, staying power.

National charity The Children’s Trust, Tadworth provides care, education and therapy for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs, and rehabilitation services for children with acquired brain injuries.

Every year thousands of children in the UK acquire a brain injury from a devastating accident or illness, a condition that will affect them for the rest of their lives. The Children’s Trust runs the UK’s largest paediatric residential rehabilitation centre for acquired brain

injury and works with these children to help them regain some of the skills they have lost and maximise their independence.

Fundraising events are essential in helping the Trust to continue to expand its specialist services to reach even more children and their families.
