Basic assumptions around the area are related to working and studying since the area is inside a university and there are many college students walking around the area looking for a place to study or take a break and relax.
Basic Assumptions Values Language

The main language in the area is spanish considering we are in México. Although most people here speak Spanish and most classes in UDEM are in Spanish, there are some people who only speak English and a few classes which are in English.
There are many important values in UDEM, some of them include respect, responsibility, dignity, integrity, justice, liberty and honesty.

RELEVANT AND POPULAR
IN CAMPUS SITE
18
Surrounded by Monterrey’s mountains which are one of the most pretty sites to see when visiting Monterrey.
UNIQUE VIEWS
Offers the perfect opportunity to expand the UDEM’s territory so it can have yet another area where students, teachers and even visitors can relax.
CONTEXT ANALYSIS
Positive and Negative Aspects
Potential of having different functional areas added including green and colorful spaces to bring life to the campus as a whole.
BIG SPACE
Area surrounded by students and teachers most of the time. People are often passing by it, which guarantees that they will take it into account and most likely visit the area.
19
Located inside the UDEM university campus meaning there must be a lot of different things that the design of the area must comply with for the space to be able to work properly and be approved by the campus directors
COLORLESS
IN CAMPUS REQUIREMENTS
As of now, people don’t consider this area for anything but walking from one distance to another because there is nowhere to sit or stay; it is a very big, empty space. It is also a place that is considered useless because it has no specific use other than transporting from one area to another.
OUTSIDE AREA
CONTEXT ANALYSIS
As it is outside, and there is not a lot of green, it can easily become a very hot or very cold place for people to consider staying there to work
It is very neutral and there is no color which gives the space a boring and negative connotation for many people who pass through here

23 CONCEPT @STUDYHUB Iwlllookatthemapand chooseaspot!

The problem we have is that we have a big outdoor area that's not used for anything other than as a transitioning place and we want to solve this problem by creating a space where people can meet up and sit down if they like to in a comfortable place where there's shadow to keep them safe from the sun. We have decided to take advantage of the area and create an eco patio like space where the UDEM students, staff and members can take good advantage of it while having different options they can enjoy. Taking into consideration the amount of space, how many people walk by and the overall UDEM facilities and areas, we came to the conclusion that it would be best if we offered something different, comfortable and attractive. In order to accomplish this, we made the choice to include, the following areas: study spaces where you can find booths and tables with enough space in case there's a group project, as well as bean bag area for a smaller studying space. Food trucks with tables surrounding them to grab a quick snack or lunch before heading to class, picnic and bean-bag area located on the CRGS grass to socialize, read or have some alone time and benches to rest in between classes or before after school pick ups. We also decided to add trees beside the sidewalks and around certain areas in order to provide more shade for when it's sunny. Our goal is to make the UDEM a space that people can enjoy being at, not only for academic purposes, but for personal preferences. We want for the UDEM community to feel like they have a comfortable space to relax, study and eat when they are not in class; either during breaks or before/after class.
