EDITOR’S NOTE PREDICTING SUCCESS
by Cindy DavisAT THE END OF JANUARY I ATTENDED Integrated Systems Europe 2024 in Barcelona. It was the first trade show where I felt we were indeed back. The show floor was so packed with attendees that it was hard to get around. It felt great, and the energy was palpable. I have a strong feeling that InfoComm 2024 will have the same excitement. We’ve all put the past three-plus years behind us, and baby, we’re back.
As I write this, my schedule is so packed that I am wondering how I might create a digital twin. Yet, the organized chaos, seeing new innovations in person, and the fantastic people who comprise our industry will super-charge me for several months.
If you see me buzzing by, say, “Hello.”
OUR INDUSTRY’S THOUGHT LEADERS
In January and again in June, I ask the CEOs, CTOs, CMOs, presidents, vice presidents, directors of products, and other thought leaders to share insight into their company’s roadmap. In the case of this Guide to InfoComm, I ask what they are excited to be announcing at the show. Below is a snapshot of what they had to say.
“Sony’s philosophy for InfoComm continues to hold strong, and our theme remains ‘Creating Connected Experiences,’” said Mark Bonifacio, director of Business Management for Professional Display Solutions at Sony Electronics.
“We’re committed to making our solutions easier to use and more environmentally conscious, providing a more comprehensive ecosystem and partnering with other industry leaders for the benefit of our users.”
Datapath’s director of Sales, Americas, Mark Bohs, said, “With the vast increase in the volumes of video data now required in today’s control rooms, there are huge challenges around how critical information is made available to

operators in and out of the control room. As the data volume increases, solutions like Datapath’s Aetria are needed to help operators make sense of it, allowing ‘anything, anywhere’ video management.”
AI and the cloud continue to dominate discussions and product roadmaps. Shure’s associate vice president of North America, Sean Bowman, said, “ShureCloud, which is being previewed at InfoComm, is a unified platform for customers to update, manage, and control Shure hardware and software products in one place.”
Laura Madaio, director of marketing at Yamaha Unified Communications, said, “We are excited to showcase our latest AI-driven technologies and new components. These innovations highlight how AI has enhanced the detection of meaningful audio, identification of speakers, and delivery of a superior meeting experience for remote participants.”
“At Sennheiser, one of our chief missions is the advancement of audio technology to facilitate seamless collaboration and learning experiences,” said David Missall, Insights manager at Sennheiser. “Our focus remains steadfast on innovation, partnership, and delivering unparalleled solutions that set new standards in business communication.
Listen Technologies’ vice president of Global Marketing, Kim Franklin, said, “We are committed to enhancing life’s moments through sound. As technology evolves, we remain at the cutting edge, revolutionizing how individuals connect and experience sound. We are excited about the future and proud to help end users engage in the things they love.”

Don't Be Square–Go to the Sphere
AV Technology and Systems Contractor News has covered every pixel of the Sphere in Las Vegas since well before it opened. Am I as addicted and enthralled by its presence as a kid at a candy factory? Yes. Is it because it is the biggest shiny object? No. But it is. When I found out there would be an exclusive event, An Evening at Sphere, on Tuesday, June 11, during InfoComm, I set my sights on scoring an invitation. I reached out to our friends at AVI Systems, and they shared the following about the event (and my invitation).
"When the experts at AVI Systems engage with a customer, the outcome usually includes new ways to use technology to create more human impact. AVI does this by providing integrated solutions across a broad field of technologies and platforms, including audiovisual, unified collaboration, Microsoft services, digital media, broadcast, and visualization solutions.
In June, the AV universe will descend on InfoComm 2024 in Las Vegas. Organized by AVIXA, the annual event is the most influential industry trade show in North America, drawing more than 40,000 attendees from 110 countries. It’s the ideal place for AVI Systems to share its deep expertise and capabilities.
This year, InfoComm organizers and AVI Systems coordinated with Sphere management to host an exclusive opening reception at Sphere on June 11. Invited guests will have access to the Atrium of Sphere to experience holographic art installations, chat with interactive robots, and experience 22nd-century technologies. At 8 p.m. all guests at the opening reception will view “Postcards from Earth,” a 50-minute multisensory film shown on the world’s largest hi-def screen. Attendees will include VIPs from InfoComm as well as AVI Systems’ customers and technology partners.
In addition, AVI will have its largest exhibit space on the InfoComm show floor (booth #C7087), where staff will share modern workplace technology solutions designed to enhance engagement and collaboration. AVI is also involved in the creation and support of

technologies used at the InfoComm Esports Live 2.0 venue on the show floor. Here collegiate Esports teams will compete each day in live action and attendees can see the future of gaming firsthand.
AVI’s multinational customers and organizations operating on Microsoft Teams platforms are also invited to visit the AVI | GPA Global Lounge (N242). Speakers from Microsoft will share insights about Microsoft Teams and Places as well as other solutions designed to enhance collaboration.
When visiting AVI Systems at InfoComm 2024, attendees will learn how the company leads the industry in enhancing AV ecosystems that achieve communication and collaboration objectives."

The Tweetup Uncovered
Our readers wanted to know about the genesis of the Tweetup, an event where AV industry professionals get together during InfoComm to hang out and network. We went to one of the event originators, Tim Albright, President of AVNation Media to find out.

Albright said, “The Tweetup happened rather organically at InfoComm. Twitter (now X) had become a popular gathering point for all sorts of AV professionals. With the rise of the hashtag #AVTweeps, people from all over the industry had a spot to share ideas, concerns, and trends. When they all gathered at InfoComm in 2011, the idea was struck to meet these disparate Twitter fellows IRL (in real life).
If anyone were to be credited for starting the first Tweetup, it's Linda Seid Frembes, who is currently the customer community and customer communications lead at Agiloft. The first few Tweetups were ad hoc at a
local bar, with various manufacturers paying for drinks. In 2013, AVNation took on the cost and responsibility of organizing the event. Now, it’s evolved into an in-person networking event for those you meet online.
Today the Tweetup is the best walkthrough party the week of InfoComm. There is no pressure, no pretense. Come by between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12 in room W 305 and network. Stay for five minutes or two hours. It’s entirely up to you. For AVNation, it’s a chance for us to say ‘thank you’ to an incredible industry. AVNation podcast hosts will be there, as well as manufacturers, AV users, dealers, and industry icons

"Today the Tweetup is the best walkthrough party the week of InfoComm. There is no pressure, no pretense."
— Tim Albright
will be there.
I call the Tweetup a walkthrough party for a reason. It’s a place where those attending InfoComm 2024 can swing by the event (W 305), grab a refreshment, a bite to eat, and meet some of the best AV professionals. The Tweetup isn’t designed to be a destination. It’s a rest stop on your way to whatever else you have going on that evening.”
Want to attend the Tweetup at InfoComm 2024 in Las Vegas? You’re in luck; tell them you’re a guest of Cindy Davis, and you’re in! Busted. You don’t need to know someone, and it’s not by "invitation only," but you do need to register. Everyone is welcome.

Erin's Tips for InfoComm Newcomers, Edu Sessions and HETMA
AV/IT industry veteran Erin Maher-Moran, CTS, DMC-E, Multimedia Services manager at Johns Hopkins University, and vice chair of the Board of Directors at HETMA, shares her insight and tips about InfoComm 2024.

"The HETMA booth is a unique one on the InfoComm show floor. As an end user group, we have no products to sell, so our booth is set up as an oasis for higher ed technology managers and friends to take a moment to connect with other higher ed AV/IT professionals from around the country—and even the world. It’s a great opportunity to find out about HETMA’s initiatives and programs and of course, become a member if they aren’t already! We will be hosting a happy hour each afternoon while DJ Carbon plays music that will make everyone feel like they are back in college
Drink lots of water. It’s very dry in Las Vegas and even though it is cool in the convention center, you’ll want to stay hydrated. Wear comfy shoes. The show floor is huge and especially with things being separated across the West and Central Halls, you’ll do a lot of walking.

Plan carefully. It is so tempting to over pack your schedule with education opportunities, booth tours, and events. Be sure to give yourself some breaks and downtime, plus build in walking time if you need to go from one hall to the other.
Bring snacks. I rarely schedule enough free time for me to grab real food so having something to snack on keeps me from getting hangry.
Knowledge Share
Maher-Moran is a frequent AV/IT industry panelist. "This year I am excited about sharing some of my knowledge during the HETMA Education Summit (PW01 - Monday, June 10, from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday, June 11 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) and on the Technology Innovation stage for the Trend Forecast: Learning session (TI16 – Wednesday, June 12, from 4:00 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.). As always, I am looking forward to seeing all of my #AVFriends as well as making new ones. Be sure to stop by the HETMA Booth (#C5651) and say, HI!"

Hey AVTweeps, How Do You Spend Your Sunday Morning?
If you're in AV and on Twitter (I stand corrected, "X") even once a week, then you know @chris_neto. He's the king of the AV social sphere. Since 2011, he has racked up 166.6K Twitter posts, and that's just under his persona.

In 2018, Chris Neto, CTS, Market Development manager at Starin, started a group on Twitter called #AVinTheAM. Every Sunday at 8:00 a.m. ET, with few exceptions, you'll find Neto and several passionate #AVTweeps discussing all things AV, having a lot of fun and caffeine along the way.
Neto does a great deal of legwork to provide a framework for each Sunday discussion with five questions specific to a topic. On Sunday, May 5, the #AVinTheAM topic was "AV Wars: Rise of Opinions."
Neto's dedication to the AV industry is exceptional.
Cindy Davis was curious about #AVinTheAM and asked Neto a few questions.
Davis: How on earth did #AVinTheAM begin, and why?
Neto: #AVinTheAM started on Sunday, January 21, 2018. It all began when I was making breakfast for my kids. I woke up early and got a pot of coffee going while I was making pancakes. I remember taking a pic of my coffee cup and saying good morning on Twitter. In my next tweet, I answered a question someone asked about Amazon Alexa in a corporate environment. My answer prompted a bunch of early birds to respond and debate if I was right or wrong. We chatted for the next few hours, and by noon, the conversation came to an end. The following Sunday, I woke up early, started my
pot of coffee, got onto Twitter, and said, 'Good Morning,' and someone responded, 'So what are we talking about this week?'
Davis: Okay, that's two weeks of discussion. How did you keep it going and decide to create a brand around it?
Neto: I believe #AVinTheAM started as a chat but developed into a community. People are passionate about our industry, and through #AVinTheAM, people became united in that passion. Consistency is crucial to any social media. Quickly identifying that there was an AV audience on Sunday mornings was key. Then, I came up with a hashtag and a logo that people could identify with. It all happened very quickly.
Davis: Do you have anything special planned leading up to or during InfoComm?
Neto: I always have something cooking in the background, but you will have to check out Twitter (X) to see what I do. I don't like giving away too much ahead of time, but there is always something in the works. Last year, I brought 200 people to Starin's booth to pick up some limited edition #AVinTheAM stickers and a bracelet.
Davis: You're also the creator of #AVSelfie. How did that happen?
Neto: #AVSelfie started with the idea of breaking the internet. In the early days of 4G, cell phone companies complained that pics/selfies
were slowing down their services. I took the idea to Tim Albright, who loved it but added that we could do a compilation video of all the pics captured. The beauty of #AVselfie was that there weren't any gamification rules. Just snap a pic and use the hashtag; the rest was social media magic. The folks really took to it, and it grew year after year to include a song and a parody video starring Phil Cordell, the AV Rapper.
Davis: I'd like to tip my hat to you, Chris. I don't know how you keep the magic going.
"I woke up early, started my pot of coffee, got onto Twitter, and said, 'Good Morning,' and someone responded, 'So what are we talking about this week?'"
— Chris Neto

Zigzag with Jenn at InfoComm and Learn Tons
We asked Jenn Steinhardt, CTS-D, CTS, Audiovisual Design Consultant, associate at Shen Milsom & Wilke LLC to share some insight into sessions and panels she will be moderating during InfoComm 2024. To say she is excited is an understatement. Below is what she shared.

At InfoComm 2024, you're not going to want to miss my sessions. And if nothing else, it will be entertaining watching me zigzag between halls. But seriously, there's something for everyone.
On Wednesday, in the AVIXA Members Lounge, join the Diversity Council Meetup from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. for networking and updates on what's latest with the council.
Thursday, at 11:30 a.m., I'll be moderating the panel Trend Forecast: Enterprise IT, with perspectives from all-stars such as Oliver Van Camp from Barco, Jimmy Vaughan from Microsoft, Hope Roth from Q-SYS and Colin Birney from AV MSP. It'll be lively discussions around AI, the cloud, and how to manage, monitor and secure AV on the network in the constantly evolving land of hybrid. Whether you're on the IT or AV side of the house, this session is not to be missed and come prepared with questions!
You'll want to catch Documentation and Coordination Strategies for Network Design which kicks off Thursday at 1:00 p.m. I'm quite excited about this one because there are a ton of sessions about how to measure or estimate this and that (yes these is certainly the technical terms), but this session will focus on the documentation and coordination points. This will be good for those in IT and AV. If this wasn't incentive enough, there is 1 ANP (AV Networking Professional) renewal credit available for attending.
If you weren't sick of me yet, Designing
Sustainably is an education session that I hope everyone within room capacity can join at 2:30 p.m. Attendees will gain an understanding of what makes an audiovisual system sustainable and environmentally friendly from design to product's end of life. Designers will leave with skills to better document project requirements for sustainability and assess client needs. End users can gain perspectives to reflect on their organization as well. With so many ways to define "what's sustainability," this session will lean into breaking down the AVIXA standard for energy management and ways to use this to guide conversations.
Then, on Friday at 9:30 a.m., we get to the leadership-oriented sessions. The Diversity Council keynote will kick off Celebrate: Strate-
gies for Communication, Support, and Peace at the Technology Innovation Stage. Christina Aldan, Brand Strategy Consultant at Arana Software, will present strategies on career-growth skills like handling feedback, mentorship, micro-affirmation language, and uplifting perspectives to foster a healthy work environment. Right after the AVIXA XChange Live stage, I'll be on a panel, Wellness in the Workplace: A Focus on Mental Health. This last session is very dear to my heart as a neurodiverse, non-binary woman. My hope is that these sessions will stir conversations, break stigmas wherever they may be, and unfold some inspiration and new ideas, as well as provide some tools or frameworks to approach topics around networking, sustainability, and mental health.

Joe, What’s Happening at the HETMA Booth?
We asked Joe Way, PhD, CTS, executive director of Digital Spaces at the University of California, Los Angeles, co-founder of Higher Education Technology Managers Alliance (HETMA), editor-in-chief of Higher Ed AV, advisor of FLEXspace, and who has the longest list of active titles, affiliations, and accomplishments of just about anyone I know, to share a glimpse about HETMA and its presence at InfoComm 2024.

HETMA is returning to the InfoComm show floor for the second year in a row. After a successful launch in 2023, HETMA is going bigger and better, with a double-decker booth, right in the middle of the Central Hall: C5651. The HETMA booth serves as the hub for the higher education vertical on the show floor.
As the fastest growing in the pro-AV industry as witnessed through the rapid growth of the HETMA organization, the percentage of higher ed AV professionals seeking training and certifications, and the quickly evolving landscape of direct manufacturer-to-end user relationships, HETMA knew it was time for higher ed to plant its flag in the ground. They were right. Prior to hosting a booth on the show floor, “The HETMA Crew” were famous for roaming the show as a pack with their lime green badge flags and stickers. “You’re everywhere,” attendees would proclaim. Indeed, we were everywhere, but yet still nowhere. Thus, the evolution of the HETMA booth.
Having a presence on the show floor offers several valuable opportunities and advantages for HETMA members, higher ed attendees, manufacturer partners, and industry colleagues. No doubt that networking is the single most popular reason for the booth; the “HETMA hub” is a chance to build relationships with peers, industry leaders, and potential collaborators, and gain insights into the latest trends and technologies in the education sector.
As an advocacy organization, we know that
we best serve our vertical when we are united. In fact, HETMA membership grew by over 20 percent in just three days last year through casual walk-bys and industry partners sending other higher ed pros by the booth for information. Learning about HETMA's efforts in advocating for the needs and interests of technology managers in higher education and discovering how people can get involved to support our various initiatives gave an awareness previously only known to a select few.
This year, the HETMA booth will serve multiple purposes. We invite both higher ed professionals, those who support higher ed as manufacturers and integrators, and industry partners to come hang out, relax, and take a load off throughout the craziness of the day. HETMA will be hosting a happy hour the last two hours of each day: Wednesday from 3-5 pm, Thursday from 3:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m., and Friday from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. This is a great way to end the day, connect with colleagues, prepare for the evening, and listen to our live DJ. Likewise, Higher Ed AV will again have a podcasting booth set up to cover all the action happening at the show live, and host three show floor tours, one each day (with two being “official” AVIXA tours, and the “unofficial” AV Superfriends tour to cap off the week.
One of my biggest takeaways from hosting the booth was hearing from so many higher ed
professionals that they truly felt that they now were valued. It is so common to feel siloed on our campuses, often buried in the day-to-day. Having “a place of our own” is a way to truly support our vertical, letting our people know they aren’t alone, and we are all more successful when we go through our common challenges together. If it’s your first time at the show, I highly suggest you come to the booth as your very first stop. We will connect you with others, offer the best places to stop and help make sure you get the most out of your InfoComm experience.
"Having 'a place of our own' is a way to truly support our vertical, and we are all more successful when we go through our common challenges together."
— Joe Way

THOUGHT
LEADERS THE ROAD TO INFOCOMM
By Cindy Davis and Macy O’HearnBefore you head to the booths of these 65 companies exhibiting at InfoComm 24 in Las Vegas, check out what the CEOs, CTOs, CMOs, presidents, vice presidents, directors of product, and strategic partner relationships thought leaders had to say when asked about company roadmaps going into the show. Learn about new product and technology trends, and strategic partnerships that create more robust and complete solutions when combined.

Sony Electronics
Sony’s philosophy for InfoComm continues to hold strong and our theme remains “Creating Connected Experiences.” We’re committed to making our solutions easier to use and more environmentally conscious, providing a more comprehensive ecosystem and partnering with other industry leaders for the benefit of our users. We are looking to engage even more with the community, as we highlight our key areas of focus in booth W2201.
On the digital signage and CMS front, we’ve been proactively augmenting our offerings through our Alliance Partner Program, which aligns Sony with the industry’s preferred tools, vendors, and solutions for increased usability that promotes our collective strengths and provides great value to our users. Additionally, our Device Management Platform for monitoring and deploying displays with ease will be prominently featured. While we’re proud of the inclusive portfolio that Sony offers the Pro AV industry, we recognize there are new areas for growth that we can explore through integrations with other top companies in the space.
We’ll also be showcasing some of the hot trends that will be permeating the show, such as AI, which helps our latest PTZ cameras, including the SRG-A series and BRC-AM7, consistently track and accurately frame presenters.
Finally, last year at InfoComm, we debuted Sony’s Deep Black Non-Glare display technology, which offers low reflection while maintaining deep blacks, high contrast, and precise image quality in direct or high ambient light environments. We’re building upon that minimal glare technology at the show with a new 98-inch professional BRAVIA display that offers the same benefits our customers have raved about.
From digital signage, an auditorium environment, a collaboration space, and immersive dvLED to a live stream of the InfoComm Esports Live 2.0 experience, a device management and provisioning demo, wayfinding, and even an interactive game—there’s something for everyone.

Replicating the success of our Aetria control room set-up at ISE, we’re excited to welcome Fountainhead, Absen and B-Tech Mounts solutions to our InfoComm booth in Las Vegas. Aetria offers the ultimate in Control Room video management and these alliances allows attendees to see how other vital control room elements work in harmony in a real-use environment.
Datapath will be showcasing its expertise and alliances in the control room sector at InfoComm 2024 with a fully operational replica control room on their W2117 booth in Las Vegas.
Datapath have teamed up with Absen, B-Tech AV Mounts and Fountainhead Control Rooms to demonstrate a complete control room solution of video processing and distribution, LED video wall displays, mounts and consoles - giving InfoComm attendees a ‘closer’ experience of a control room set-up and the chance to explore and experience other vendor control roomrelated products.
The set-up will be driven by Datapath’s powerful Aetria solution, showing the latest advances in the management and control of multi-source, multi-end point video, including ‘operator video walls’ and the latest Touch control interface. With leading manufacturers coming together to provide complete user solutions, customers and end users have the convenience of seeing how all elements harmonize in a ‘real use’ environment.
With the vast increase in the volumes of video data now required in today’s control rooms, there are huge challenges around how critical information is made available to operators in and out of the control room. As the data volume increases, solutions like Datapath’s Aetria are needed to help operators make sense of it, allowing ‘anything, anywhere’ video management.
Managing video processing and content in the Datapath Control Room demo area will be a VSN video wall controller with Datapath capture and graphics cards installed. Five Aligo QTX and 18 x Aligo RX100 will manage seamless AVoIP operations, with four Arqa TX and eight Arqa RX units working alongside them to transmit and receive video data.

How we collaborate has changed dramatically over the last several years. Regardless of what environment you are in—corporate, higher education, government, in person, or remote—we’ve evolved to new methods of communication. Audio has been key to ensuring that this communication is effective. The products we’ll showcase at InfoComm this year have been specifically designed to meet these changing communication needs.
This includes the Microflex Wireless (MXW) neXt 2 Wireless Microphone System, designed for corporate and education environments that require user-friendly audio technology. We’ve designed MXW neXt 2 for environments where two wireless microphones are needed, along with the ability to connect to videoconferencing systems for remote participants. This solution is easy to set up right out of the box. This means that AV/IT integrators can spend less time setting up individual rooms and more time setting up entire university campuses, for example.
ShureCloud, which is being previewed at InfoComm, is a unified platform for customers to update, manage, and control Shure hardware and software products in one place. ShureCloud includes two new services: Shure Cloud License Management for IntelliMix Room and ShureCloud Device Management for Microflex Wireless Microphones.
Separately, attendees can also experience the brand-new Shure WL18Xm professional lavalier condenser microphones—an enhanced, lowprofile lavalier solution for speakers who want full and accurate sound quality.
These audio solutions showcase Shure’s dedication to introducing products that are easy for users to integrate into their communication environments, while continuing to provide superior audio. Atlona’s booth at InfoComm very much reflects our current direction in terms of product application solutions for our customers. As we look at the importance of media in the classroom, switchers and distribution systems must reflect the types of technology that are in use in these spaces today. From laptops with USB-C connections to interactive whiteboards that return signals back to the instructor’s laptop, plus the need for each AV device to be able to manage more elements in the room is critical. The Omega AT-OME-CS31-SA-C is a great example in that it manages a range of signals, plus audio mixing and amplification.
But that doesn’t mean that the corporate space is any less demanding in terms of managing AV systems. Many companies are looking for AV control simplicity in terms of the systems being used. Where we would have placed full control systems into rooms with separate control surfaces and control processors, it’s now important that we try to make these as much as an all-in-one product as possible. This is where the Velocity AT-VKP8E comes in as a keypad controller with eight buttons, e-paper display, and the ability to control up to 10 devices.
We’re also taking the opportunity to show our fun side. Many in the industry are familiar with our game-changing AV-over-IP solution, OmniStream, but fewer people are aware that this powerhouse of a platform can also enable fun with learning. So, at InfoComm, we’re showing how this critical backbone piece can be used to distribute all of the signals within a typical esports environment. Of course, Velocity comes along for the ride to make this complex four-zone demo station simple to manage.

USB-C has become the primary connection point for laptops and mobile devices. The corporate meeting space and modern learning environments have not yet caught up, escalating the challenge of how presenters effectively take advantage of AV and USB assets in the room. Lightware’s InfoComm strategy will demonstrate how the integration and end user communities can get the most mileage from the USB-C standard. For installers, it means building simpler rooms with more versatile functionality at a lower price point. For end users, it means simplifying how presenters connect to cameras and sound systems to share and present their content.
USB-C offers the efficiency of passing video, audio, control data, and device charging over a single cable. Lightware’s Taurus product line simplifies USB-C switching within collaborative environments, allowing users to walk into a room, connect their laptop or device, and use all available USB assets. Our Taurus exhibits at Infocomm will prove how our technologies not only make connectivity and content presentation simple for end users, but also helps integrators to overcome common challenges, such as extending USB over longer distances.
Lightware has big plans for 2024 and beyond that also look to the future needs of collaborative environments. We will share our vision of UC convergence with networked AV architectures by introducing the Taurus TPN, alongside a new Taurus UCX variant which includes the industry’s first multiscreen solution capable of moving two 4K signals to two independent screens over a single USB-C cable. This innovation represents the thirst for bridging the gap between USB-C devices and an array of existing USB peripherals in the room. We will furthermore help our customers develop room systems, automate functionality, and share configurations across adjacent spaces in consistent ways that lower project costs, reduce programming labor, and accelerate deployments.

Regardless of a business’s type or scale, there’s a pressing necessity to reimagine the workplace entirely. Today, employees work remotely, in the office, desk-less, or hybrid, and they all deserve an exceptional work experience. This workplace transformation begins within the office and meeting spaces and is driven by five key trends.
IT managers shift from a technology-first to a people-first strategy, as businesses are prioritizing employee engagement and experience over mere productivity, reshaping office culture for a superior work environment.
As workplace modernization needs to facilitate hybrid work models, the need for flexible, people-centric spaces with a focus on collaboration is high. New spaces like jump spaces, focus rooms, and modular spaces arise.
At the core of this change is technology transformation. Video is an expectation today for collaboration—a must-have. Most of the spaces are not video enabled yet, but this is changing fast as 62 percent of organizations are increasing investments in video conferencing.
Intelligent meeting rooms are here to stay, as AI-driven features like meeting summaries, smart lighting, and speaker identification are enhancing inclusivity and efficiency, propelling meeting equity forward.
Finally, sustainability and circular design principles are gaining traction. The newest collaboration devices prioritize energy efficiency and recyclability, aligning with both corporate responsibility and customer demands.
Amidst this transformation, IT managers are crucial in navigating the landscape of video-first solutions, aiming for simplicity, flexibility, and sustainability, while leveraging the power of data to enhance user experiences. Ultimately, the future of work relies on creating seamless, inclusive, and environmentally responsible spaces to drive productivity and employee satisfaction. This is exactly what ClickShare is offering IT managers: a complete collaboration portfolio for effortless and engaging hybrid meetings. The newest ClickShare Bar range stand the easiest installation at a lower TCO, with a premium audio and video experience.

We expect AV-over-IP (AVoIP) technologies to be a central focus at InfoComm 2024, and we’ll showcase a comprehensive portfolio of products that place Matrox Video at the forefront of AV/ IT convergence. As organizations transition from traditional AV infrastructure to IP network infrastructure, they need networked video technologies that empower AV/IT managers to address the variable bandwidth demands of different users and applications, enable real-time collaboration over IP, and ensure the stability, resilience, and security critical in IP-based control rooms, live production environments, and other mission-critical settings. Addressing these requirements, Matrox Video will feature a range of products designed to integrate seamlessly into and maintain security in the most demanding environments.
We’ll feature Matrox Extio 3 secure, highperformance IP KVM extenders; the Matrox KMLync keyboard and mouse switch; Matrox Maevex encoders and decoders for secure, ultra-low latency streaming and recording; and Matrox LUMA Pro graphics cards for creating versatile IP-based video walls. Also on display: the Mura C4K quad HDMI capture PCI Express card, engineered for video wall use cases that require high-density HDMI captures up to 4Kp60. We’ll also introduce our Mura distributed video wall appliance, Vion AVoIP gateway, ConvertIP IPMX/ST 2110-ready encoders/decoders and converters, and ConductIP signal routing software.
The Matrox Video product roadmap acknowledges the value of open standards in driving the advancement of AVoIP workflows. ConvertIP, for example, leverages ST 2110/ IPMX to address the AVoIP needs of enterprises, universities, government agencies, and other organizations, allowing them to connect to all types of equipment—within live production facilities, meeting rooms, auditoriums, et cetera—with near-zero latency. At InfoComm 2024, we’ll highlight the impact of IPMX support in ConvertIP. Helping system designers and end users to address limited interoperability, increased costs, and frustrating complexity, IPMX facilitates a smoother transition to IP network infrastructure.

We’ll have two core experiences at Infocomm. One experience centers around solutions purpose built for an organization’s most impactful spaces: C-suite meeting rooms, large conference spaces, training areas—anywhere critical decisions are made, or important information is shared. We’ll have multiple displays and sources, most driven by DM NVX AV-over-IP technology. The technology is adaptable to any vertical, including education, enterprise, or government applications.
We’ll also showcase our latest intelligent video solutions, including the Automate VX multicamera speaker solution that employs visual AI for group framing, presenter, and speaker tracking, and a host of other functions. Intelligent video is a great way to ensure engagement, even among remote workers, as it captures more than conversations; it captures the emotion of the meeting. The larger systems include cameras

—Brad Hintze, Executive Vice President, Global Marketing Crestron
with optical zoom, which occurs in the lens, as opposed to digital zoom, which blows up a portion of the image and reduces its clarity.
The other primary experience is based on a slightly smaller multipurpose space. It offers a one-touch meeting experience that’s built for maximum flexibility. Visitors to the booth will see how easily platforms offered by Microsoft and Zoom work with the solutions on display, and how all of it integrates with Crestron Flex products.
We’ll also have our hospitality solutions
on display—and since we’re in Vegas, we’ve brought along a sportsbook demo. It features a large display that can handle up to 16 streams of sports content, and shows how easily that display can be split into multiple configurations.
At the heart of all these solutions is Crestron’s five decades of experience with control solutions. With most of these systems, all that’s required from the user is one touch, and then everything happens automatically—content sharing, lights, shading, HVAC, and more.

A major focus for ZeeVee in the second half of 2024 is to continue to develop our advanced software-based AV-over-IP solutions. For years, this approach has proven to be a key differentiator for why integrators and end users choose our signal distribution technologies. These solutions are delivered via our ZyPer Management Platform that assists integrators and end users in installing, maintaining, and operating our AV-over-IPbased systems. It also enables us to expedite the delivery of new features, functions, and capabilities with existing hardware.
In the coming months, we plan to provide our customers with a higher level of control that will enable them to visualize an entire AV network with graphical representation of each aspect of a system. By being able to see all switches and endpoints, it will be even easier to identify connections and trunk ports between switches and trace streams between endpoints. The goal
“A major focus for ZeeVee in the second half of 2024 is to continue to develop our advanced software-based AV-over-IP solutions.”
—Bob Michaels, Chief Executive Officer ZeeVee
is for users to be able to analyze network activity in real time with instant access to switch-related data, IP addresses, current firmware version and to monitor the status and allocated bandwidth of individual ports.
Even as AVoIP matures and becomes more sophisticated, we continue to engage with end users that still lean towards HDBaseT because they fear AVoIP is difficult to learn and implement.
We believe that by offering software-delivered, intuitive management and control features, we will be able to expedite the steady conversion of the industry to network-based AV signal distribution. In support of this goal, we recently increased our weekly roster of Certified Solution Partner Training webinars, offered for free, to give industry participants the knowledge they need to be comfortable with this transition.

Another year, another incredible show is upon us. We’re excited to see our partners and meet new ones. Part of our philosophy at Crimson is our #MoreThanMounts. When we started our rebranding journey and subsequent website make over, we really keyed into this phrase because we offer so much more than just mounts. Sure, we have hundreds of mounts well suited for just about any application, and we certainly do custom applications as well. But if you haven’t experienced our “more,” then come see why we say #MoreThanMounts. In our booth we will have several dvLED video walls, two new kiosk lines, racks, as well as a new outdoor mounting solution. We’re not just mounts, we’re more!
Another part of the “more” concept is—more experience, more customer service, more quality, more value, more selection, and all with more affordability. We know there are other options out there, but what sets us apart is our more. I’m proud to say that my team receives high praise from clients for the level of service they receive. We are very much hands on and work closely with our project partners to achieve a successful outcome. From concept to reality, we’re your project partner and will be there to assist in any way possible. Our case studies are a testament of our commitment to more.

“We are addressing feedback from our customers who have signaled the need to extend space booking solutions outside the facility walls, including dynamic management of parking space reservations.”
—Anders Karlsson Chief Executive Officer Humly
Humly has spent its formative years establishing its business reputation in the busy European market, and is now expanding its presence in North America. That began with our first InfoComm exhibit last June, followed by strategic partnerships with complementary partners including Appspace, BTX Technologies and DataVisual. We return to InfoComm this year to share our vision of how we support corporate (and increasingly education) customers both within and beyond the facility walls.
At InfoComm, we will accentuate Humly’s ease of use and innovation for emerging workplace trends. That includes a hotdesking application supported through a new Desk Control accessory for our premium hardware solution, Humly Booking Device, which automatically adjusts users’ preferred seating positions. Inside the meeting space we have developed a new sensing application that notifies the local Booking Device upon entering, switching the device to “booked” mode.
Outside the facility walls, we have developed a new Parking Space Booking feature that provides a complete view of the open-air parking lot or multi-level garage. The software’s clear 3D visualization allows users to quickly identify available spaces for general, visitor, disabled, and electric vehicle parking, among other areas. North America is an exciting and lively market that offers unlimited opportunities for workplace modernization as hybrid experiences transition from novel to normalization, and our strategy for InfoComm and beyond is to help businesses bring their hybrid visions to fruition.

I saw the potential of the cloud for communicating and collaborating, but the cost of AV conferencing systems then was too high for smaller businesses. We set out to design cameras that combined high performance, easy operation, and IP connectivity while being affordable. This continues to be our goal—providing state-of-the-art hardware solutions for cloud production and virtual meetings, encompassing video, audio, switching, and control.
Today, technological advancements unleash the potential for immersive productions while raising the bar for audience expectations toward more engaging experiences. Although aiming for a higher standard doesn’t entail more complex workflows or increased budgets, many organizations are opting to develop virtual environments instead of constructing physical scenes. Additionally, there is an obvious shift from traditional on-site to cloud production methodologies.
The key to creating an immersive video experience is ensuring that the hardware devices are reliable, scalable, and future-proofed. At Telycam, we prioritize these factors when designing product functionalities. Our new 1-inch sensor PTZ camera, Explore, seamlessly integrates with VR and AR platforms via the FreeD protocol. With premium 4K60 video quality and genlock synchronization, Explore delivers vivid virtual environments even with basic greenscreen setups. Another feature that enables us to embrace the cloud-production trend is the native NDI Bridge for hardware utility in NDI 6. Now users can achieve WAN connectivity and transmit video signals to the cloud directly using the camera itself.
We also know how important it is to provide total audiovisual solutions in conference room scenarios to ensure seamless and productive meeting experiences. Our new advanced USB/ wireless speakerphone, SONO, exemplifies this. An intuitive setup integrating SONO and PTZ cameras reduces technical issues, simplifies setup and operation, and enables users to focus on their content.
