et ’s get making… LDemonstrations All Hobbycraft stores will be running a variety of free demonstrations during the Christmas season. Learn all about making and decorating cards, wreaths, Advent calendars and stockings. Pick up some brilliant ideas for festive table settings, crackers and gift wrap. Kids are catered for too, with lots of activities to inspire them.

Festive Nutcracker
Buy him plain and decorate him! Standing at over 9” (24cm) tall, our handsome drumming nutcracker comes in plain, unadorned bare wood in a box with a clear acetate lid (so perfect to give as a special gift) for £8. Or, buy a pair of 2 mini-sized nutcrackers, 5” (13cm) tall for £5. To decorate ours, we used Daler Rowney Simply Acrylic Paint Pot (£10) – it contains 20 mini tubes of acrylic paint and is great for craft projects.
STEP 1
Use a soft brush to dust off any debris. Wipe over with a damp cloth and leave to dry.
STEP2
Paint the whole nutcracker, except his face and the drum sticks, in white acrylic paint and leave to dry. Then, using the picture as a guide, carefully create his costume and face using your choice of single 9” nutcracker 586159-1000, pair 5” nutcrackers 586160-1000, Daler Rowney Simply Acrylic Paint Pot 581198-1000
