Die Regierung der Kanaren fördert die Produktion von kaltgepresstem Olivenöl auf den Inseln FMHOY - Fuerteventura Der Beauftragte für Landwirtschaft, Viehzucht, Fischerei und Gewässer der Regierung der Kanaren, Narvay Quintero, erklärte kürzlich, dass der Subsektor der Produktion von kaltgepresstem Olivenöl „zusammenhalten und auf eine außergewöhnliche Qualität setzen muss”, um wettbewerbsfähig zu sein. Quintero erklärte dieses während des ersten regionalen Treffens der Olivenölproduzenten, das im vergangenen Monat auf Fuerteventura stattfand. An diesem Treffen nahmen 40 Olivenölproduzenten teil, die vor allem aus Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura und Teneriffa, aber auch von La Palma, El Hierro und Lanzarote kamen, um ihre Erfahrungen auszutauschen und etwas über die Studien und Analysen zu erfahren, die von den Fachkräften der Regierung der autonomen Region und anderer Verwaltungen zur Verfügung gestellt wurden.
Bei dieser Veranstaltung, die vom kanarischen Institut für Lebensmittelqualität (ICCA) in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Cabildo von Fuerteventura organisiert wurde, konnte die gegenwärtige und die zukünftige Situation eines Sektors analysiert werden, der in dem Archipel im Kommen ist. Die Anbaufläche ist in den letzten 5 Jahre um 226% gewachsen. Deshalb wurde der Sektor in das EUProgramm für die Unterstützung der landwirtschaftlichen Produktion auf den Kanaren (POSEI) aufgenommen und mit 220.000 Euro für die Kampagne 2018 unterstützt. Narvay Quintero wurde von folgenden Personen begleitet, dem Präsidenten des Cabildo von Fuerteventura, Marcial Morales, dem Inselbeauftragten für Landwirtschaft, Juan Estárico Quintana, dem Direktor des ICCA; José Díaz Flores, dem Bürgermeister von Puerto
del Rosario, Nicolás Gutiérrez, und dem Generaldirektor für Viehzucht, David de Vera. Aus den neuesten Daten des Kanarischen Instituts für Statistik (ISTAC) geht hervor, dass Gran Canaria 2016 die Insel mit der größten Anbaufläche (154 Hektar) war. Danach kamen Fuerteventura (81) und Teneriffa (75). Auf den anderen Inseln ist diese Produktion in geringerem Maße vertreten. Die Regierung der Kanaren hat diesen Subsektor unterstützt und ihn nicht nur in das POSEI-Programm aufgenommen, sondern auch bei dem Wettbewerb Agrocanarias für dieses Produkt geworben. Das ICCA und das Amt für Landwirtschaftsmanagement der Kanaren haben an Messen wie der ITB Berlin, dem ‚Salón de Gourmets’, Gastrocanarias, ‚Gran Canaria me gusta’ usw. teilgenommen.

Narvay Quintero was accompanied by the president of Fuerteventura’s Cabildo, Marcial Morales, the island’s Agriculture councillor, Juan Estárico Quintana, the director of the ICCA, José Díaz Flores, the mayor of Puerto del Rosario, Nicolás Gutiérrez and the
director of the Livestock Department, David de Vera. According to the latest data from the Canarian Statistics Institute (ISTAC), in 2016 Gran Canaria was the island where this activity was the most present with 154 hectares, followed by Fuerteventura (81) and Tenerife (75), with a lower presence on the rest of the islands. The Canarian Government has been supporting this sub-sector, as well as its incorporation in POSEI with its promotion during the Official Agrocanarias Contest or the activity that the ICCA and the Canarian Rural Environment Management carry out in fairs such as the recent ITB in Berlin, the Gourmets Fair, Gastrocanarias, Gran Canaria me gusta, etc.
