Tri WWW launches the sale of solidarity equipment to support the inclusion of disabled athletes into the triathlon FMHOY - Fuerteventura investing in other projects such as joelettes (wheelchairs adapted for hiking) or wheelchairs adapted for the practise of Padel, to name a few. Engaged with adapted sports The commendable work of Tri WWW searching for development of disabled people through sports already includes the support of many athletes, business and entities. However, they need to keep on working in order to get more and more people to participate in their objectives. In order to adapt to all requirements, Tri WWW is selling three product packages: One piece: to be chosen between the jersey (sleeveless or short sleeves) and the shorts. Two pieces: Shorts with the sleeveless jersey or shorts with the jersey with sleeves (with the K Swiss towel, K Swiss Lanyard and Viator socks free of charge). The Canarian charity association will dedicate the funds collected with the sale of Sports equipment for disabled athletes. The charity association called Tri WWW located in Lanzarote works all over the national territory to help people with disabilities through sports. Through disciplines such as triathlon they have found a way to include and promote personal development which is primordial for their daily tasks. As part of the project and with the support of the sports’ marketing business called Trisense Sport, Tri WWW has launched the sale of solidarity equipment which is available as cycling shorts with leather insert, a sleeveless jersey and one with short sleeves. This initiative promotes the association and its goals, and it also brings in funds. Funds generated from the sale of this equipment that can be purchased through their webpage: www.triwww.com, will be destined to purchasing sports equipment for the association. The first objective is to purchase a handbike for Yerai and a modified bicycle for Andrés. Furthermore, equipment will be purchased for athletes with disabilities. Yerai Betancor and Andrés Martín The protagonists of this story are Yerai Betancor and Andrés Martín. Yerai Betancor, 32 years old, had an accident in a swimming pool and ended up in a wheelchair. He was born in Las Palmas and lives in Lanzarote. He dedicated himself to sport and currently needs a handbike in order to compete in the next challenges such as the Third Tour of Playa Blanca in February 2012. This is the equivalent to the bicycle for people with disabilities and has become one of the objectives of this Tri WWW campaign because of the difficulty to find manual chairs on the market. Its cost is quite high, which ranges between 4 000 and 5 000 Euros. Andrés Martín was born in Lanzarote 17 years ago and he has just graduated from his Secondary Education. He is a sports enthusiast and, more concretely, of triathlon. He has participated in various competitions individually
and with a team of athletes such as Rafa Botello and Alain Fuertes, who he was introduced to last September in Valencia Triathlon Gran Premio Ibercaja. In order to keep on competing in triathlon, Andrés needs a new bicycle converted as a tricycle or a racing bike in order to convert it, as he can move his legs but does not have enough balance to be able to use a bicycle.
