2 Types of Radiator

Types of Radiator and its Working Principles What is the Radiator? Car radiator manufacturers in India design the radiators so that they serve the purpose of cooling the car engine by transforming thermal energy from one medium to another. A heat exchanger device consists of a large amount of cooling surface and the air that helps through the water to cool efficiently. The radiator manufacturer supplies a wide range of applications used in piston-engine aircraft, locomotives, railways, motorcycles, and many other places where engines are used. The classification of the radiator depends on the direction of the flow of the water. In some cases, the water flows horizontally cross-flow type, and in some cases, the water flows from top to bottom downflow type. As radiators need to be joined by soldering, they are usually made of copper and brass. These are the only metals used as the radiators are exposed to high heat and conductivity. Let us learn about the types of radiators that are designed by the radiator core manufacturers:

Cellular Type Core In cellular type radiator core, air passes through the tubes, and the water flows in the spaces between them. A large number of individual core cells are surrounded by water. The cellular type core composed looks like a honeycomb radiator, especially when the cells are hexagonal because of its appearance. In a radiator, clogging of any passage may cause damage as air cannot pass through the cooling surface.

Tubular Type Core The word tubular suggests that the upper and the lower tanks are connected by a series of tubes where the water can pass through. Fins are attached to improve heat transfer. When air passes outside the tubes where the fins are located, it absorbs the water's heat. In this type of core radiator, where water passes through all the tubes, the full cooling effect is lost if one tube gets clogged.

Is it essential to have a radiator in the car? Many of us would believe that it is acceptable to start a car without a radiator. But it is risky until the engine causes damage due to overheating. If you are a person who uses the vehicle for a short run, the machine will not get too hot. Your car will not get overheated, and you can shut down the vehicle to cool off via convection.
