Being members of the Student Leadership Team for 2021 provided us with the chance to be an active part of positive change. We strived to promote greater unity, encourage participation in faith and service, and offer more opportunities to students.

Paige Ellison This year has been interesting for everyone, especially the Class of 2021. Fortunately, the unexpected uncertainties did not hinder all events. La Salle House participated in various Tutor Group competitions that promoted health, friendships, and House spirit, including the egg and spoon races, dodgeball, Olympic trampolining and Kahoot quizzes to name a few.

As 2021 House Captains, our greatest pride is La Salle’s unprecedented triple crown victory in the Swimming, Cross Country, and Athletics Carnivals - we believe this is the first time this has been achieved! With the help of fellow La Salle Saints, the mighty Red House produced some astonishing results in the war cries, securing first place. The Athletics Carnival saw fabulous feats of athleticism and effort from individual students. Multiple Saints received the prestigious Age Champion award, which was an excellent way to finish the year’s last major event.

Our House was able to come together as a community in faith and prayer, as one of the Friday morning Masses was dedicated to our founding Saint, St John Baptist de La Salle. There was a remarkable turnout, standing room only, with many La Salle students engaging in Prayers of the Faithful and singing hymns. “Whilst we are sad that our time at the College is over, we are filled with joy knowing our House is in good hands and that La Salle’s legacy will continue to be built upon in years to come. We encourage all students in all Year groups in La Salle, to engage and immerse themselves in every aspect of the House and College, to continue growing the foundations for La Salle to flourish and achieve all the goals it sets.”

We would like to wish Ms Quill, Tutor Teacher all the best as she departs Oakhill for pastures new and thank her for her support and contribution. We would also like to personally thank our House Dean, Mr Ellwood, along with the La Salle Class of 2021 for all the help they have given us in our leadership roles. We wouldn’t have been able to fulfil these roles without you.
