Each Albert Lea Angler can attend meetings, receive a fishing jersey, compete in local competitions and area competitions, have access to our fishing kayak, participate in group activities like fishing with ARC, Take a Kid Fishing, Lake Clean-Up and the Governor’s Fishing Opener.

You need to currently be in 6th through 12th grade and have a passion for fishing.

We’re looking for outdoor and fishing enthusiasts to host registered guests for the fishing challenge during the Governor’s Fishing Opener (GFO). You do not need to be a fishing “expert,” you just need to have a properly functioning & licensed boat and a willingness to spend some time talking about our great area.

You’ll want to be available in the evenings leading up to the GFO, specifically Thursday evening for the Host Appreciation Dinner & Rules Meeting and possibly Friday evening to meet with your guests and make a plan for the Saturday opener. Further, you’ll be required to be available on Saturday until approximately 4 p.m. All fishing hosts will receive a generous commemorative package, gas coupon and bait.
